GROUP DESCRIPTION OF THE VIVA PARTY

We are a Left-wing, anti-Capitalist, Revolutionary Democratic Socialist Party. We aim to unite progressive forces and individuals who want to improve society, such as revolutionaries, genuine reformists and activists. We stand for social and cultural advancement, progressive causes and just virtues.

The Viva Party is building the Revolutionary Utopian Montagne, which proposes a grand reformation of New Zealand politics, by uniting the left wing opposition, from the ground up, by the people, for the people.

The Revolutionary Utopian Montagne will help establish the Utopia of the Socialist Republic of Aotearoa New Zealand, as part of the worldwide social revolution against the corruption that exists throughout most of the World. We aim to make the Revolution more peaceful by basing it on knowledge, wisdom, enlightenment (advanced consciousness) and love. We aim to spread enlightenment with revolutionary literature and art, and other means.

We are affiliated to the cause of the Fifth International, which we aim to help establish. The Fifth International will guide the World Revolution, and will establish Revolutionary Utopian Montagnes in each country, which will help change the status-quo social systems in each country, and usher in a Worldwide Socialist Utopia.

This revolutionary movement will apply Socialism differently to how it has been applied in past attempts. The past attempts are a source of influence, inspiration and education, but we will not strictly follow any particular model in an orthodox manner. We will adopt the good aspects from past Socialist systems and discard the negative aspects. We aim to create a higher form of Socialism, more successful and more Utopian than all previous past attempts, transcending Socialism to a higher level. We are influenced by Communism (e.g. Marx, Engels, Lenin, and others), and other Socialists and Utopians.

HISTORY OF THE VIVA PARTY

The Viva Party began in 2010 as a Marxist-Leninist meeting in Kaitaia, New Zealand (NZ), led by James Jordan-Bradley, which included friends, family and comrades. We called the meetings ‘Marxist meetings’. At the start, this meeting group was affiliated to the New Zealand section of the IMT (International Marxist Tendency) which is a Trotskyist Marxist-Leninist organization with chapters in various countries in the World. The New Zealand section of the IMT is called Socialist Appeal. Although affiliated to the IMT, James organized the meetings on his own accord and presented his own perspectives. James had dedicated his life to the revolution at the start of 2010, and began his revolutionary mission by organizing the Marxist meetings. Disagreements over the nature of Dialectics (a part of the metaphysics of Marxism, which is based on Hegel’s Dialectics), as well as disagreements over the correct approach to the policy on revolutionizing the Maori, caused James to leave Socialist Appeal early in 2010, while maintaining his full meeting group in Kaitaia. James decided to found his own Communist party. James turned his lessons from the Marxist meetings into chapters for a magazine. He released two magazines under the title Youth Dialectic, with the aim of establishing a Youth Dialectic Party, which would be ideologically Trotskyist Marxist-Leninist. The two magazines included a diverse range of topics such as: Socialism and Revolutionary Theory & Practice, a draft-programme for the Youth Dialectic Party, Philosophy, economic theory (a critique of Capitalist economy), Dialectical Materialist Metaphysics, Climate change, human history, the history of Dialectics and Materialism, Revolutionary history, the history of consciousness and reason (e.g. philosophy, religion, and science), a history of organized labour, a history of the Workers internationals (i.e. the First, Second, Third and Fourth Internationals), a reading list of Marx, Engels, Lenin and Trotsky, as well as a classic piece of Marxist literature: Lenin’s ‘the three sources and three component parts of Marxism’. A five point appeal was developed: Environmentalism, Maori policy, the labour party left front, revolution, and Dialectics vs. Idealism. The idea for a labour party left front was presented to members of the Labour Party caucus when James and one of his comrades went to the Labour Party conference in 2010 and distributed Youth Dialectic magazines at the conference. The idea for a Labour Party left front received some support at the conference. As well as publishing two magazines, James released two leaflets in 2010, focusing on the history of organized labour and the history of the Workers internationals. By the end of 2010 James was working on a book which was to be called ‘Theoretical Foundations of the Youth Dialectic Party’, with the subtitle of ‘Dialectical Materialism and Revolutionary Theory & Practice’. The ‘Theoretical Foundations’ book was going to include the contents of the two Youth Dialectic magazines, the two leaflets, as well as additional content including: Natural Sciences and Metaphysics, Perspectives on the Worldwide situation, Perspectives on the situation in New Zealand, a criticism of the International Marxist Tendency (IMT), organizational principles, and the History of the modern age (French Revolution to the present). The ‘Theoretical Foundations’ book also presented seven tactics: Labour Party Left Front, Environmentalist Front, Trade Unions Front, Maori Front, Youth Front, Hands off Venezuela Front, and a Front dedicated to Dialectical Materialism. Before James had finished editing his book, an event broke out which was to change everything; the Arab Spring: a revolutionary wave that swept through the Arab world and the Middle East at the start of 2011. The Iranian protests which began in 2009 had influenced James to dedicate his life to the revolution. He expected that a World revolution would follow, and that the revolution would come to New Zealand. This was largely due to his expectation that the economic crisis which began in 2008 would cause revolutions, as well as his belief that the revolution was inevitable. The Arab Spring revolutions, which for the most part James whole heartedly supported, quickly led to the civil war in Libya against Gaddafi which James strongly opposed. The civil war in Libya was soon followed by the bombing of Libya by NATO and their allies, which James condemned as a Western Imperialist attack on a Socialist country. In James’s mind it was time to start the revolution in New Zealand, to save Gaddafi’s ‘Green’ Libya. James changed the name of his party to ‘Democratic Communist Party of Aotearoa’ (DCPA).  He began to build support for the DCPA on the streets of Kaitaia, and distributed DCPA armbands and many leaflets about Libya. He called for a protest to support Gaddafi and start a revolution. His protest group, consisting of about 20 teenagers and one of his comrades, marched into Pak n’ Save supermarket with the aim of transferring the powers of management over to the revolutionary worker’s council, to as to initiate the revolution in Kaitaia. James was arrested by the police but was released. A few days later, the 2011 Hikoi began, which James and a comrade joined, so as to spread the message about Gaddafi and Libya to a larger audience. The 2011 Hikoi was a protest march of the Maori Protest Movement, from the top of North Island to the capital city of Wellington, at the bottom of the North Island. After the Hikoi, James changed the name of the Party to ‘Killuminati Seven Day Theory Party – Takeover Aotearoa New Zealand’ (KSDTPTANZ). His ‘Theoretical Foundations’ book, which was never released in its original format, evolved into ‘2pac’s Prophecy: The Seven Day Theory’: The Four Philosophical Pillars for the Modern Enlightenment Revolution’ (Scientific name: The Four pillars of synthesized Dialectical Materialism, the final stage of Marxist-Leninism and the theoretical foundations of the 5th Communist International) Its main topics were:

1/ Natural Sciences, Metaphysics and Dialectical Materialism

2/ Evolution of Civilization (Human history)

3/ Evolution of Consciousness, reason, and Metaphysics

4/ the history of the 20th century and the tactics for the world revolution of the 21st century

5/ the life & assassination of 2pac Shakur (which explained the black rights movement in the USA)

James released a prototype of this book at the Occupy Protest in Auckland in 2011, and distributed leaflets in support of Gaddafi’s Green Libya. He was arrested at the protest due to his eccentric views and beliefs.  At the start of 2012 he released a draft version of his book (2pacs prophecy). The name of the party was later changed to Marxist-Leninist Communist Party of Aotearoa (MLCPA), which later changed to Revolutionary Democratic Socialist Party of Aotearoa (RDSPA), which later changed to Viva Party of Aotearoa New Zealand. From 2012 onwards James revised his book into a book series with a new title and greatly expanded content. The first volume of the new book series is called ‘the Manifesto of the Viva Party’ which will be released soon.

FACEBOOK NETWORK OF THE VIVA PARTY

The Arab Spring had significant social media (e.g. Facebook) activity surrounding it. James seized the opportunity to create an international Facebook network, to campaign against the NATO bombing of Libya. Soon afterwards, due to the civil war in Syria, which James opposed; the cause of the Facebook network become to also oppose a potential NATO invasion of Syria, which James predicted the Syrian civil war would be used to justify. The tagline of the group was ‘Oppose NATO’s wars on Libya & Syria’. The Facebook groups established throughout the World began as regional groups to try foster regional unity. The regional groups are: Arab World, Middle East, Central Asia, South Asia, East & South East Asia, Oceania, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. Groups for individual countries were also made. The group titles was based on the template of ‘5th Communist International – Oppose NATO’s wars on Libya and Syria’. Later the name changed to 5th Socialist International’, later to change to ‘5th International’, and finally to change to Fifth International affiliated. Now the template title of the group is Viva Party – Fifth International affiliated’.

From the Arab Spring onwards several Facebook groups united with James’ cause. An independent Communist Facebook group in New Zeland united with James’ cause. This Facebook group became the Progressive Coalition (Left Front) of Aotearoa New Zealand. The name of the coalition changed to the Revolutionary Coalition (Left Front) of Aotearoa New Zealand, which later changed to Revolutionary Left Coalition of Aotearoa New Zealand, which later changed to Revolutionary Utopian Montagne of Aotearoa New Zealand.

The word Montagne means Mountain in the French language. In the great French Revolution (1789-early 1800s) the Parisian working class overthrew the city council of Paris and established a Paris Commune to replace it. The Revolutionary Paris Commune installed the leftists of Parliament to power, who were collectively called the Montagne because they sat on raised seats, on the extreme left of Parliament. The Montagne government was led by Maximilien Robespierre. Montagne is a phrase which can mean left coalition.

The Revolutionary Utopian Montagne of Aotearoa New Zealand has ten wings:

1/ Communist Wing

2/ Anti-Imperialist & Anti-Fascist Network

3/ Anti-Colonial Network

4/ Revolutionary Maori Wing

5/ Labour Party Left Front
