The face-tattooed protesters and Adolf Hitler lookalikes whose appearance at a Reclaim Australia rally mocks the group's claim that it stands for 'ordinary' people

  • An Adolf Hitler impersonator showed up at the Reclaim Australia rallies
  • The Brisbane rally on Sunday saw about 200 anti-Islam protesters
  • The Hitler look-a-like was seen casually rolling up his sleeves
  • He had his hair swept to the side and a toothbrush moustache shaved

A man with a striking face tattoo and an Adolf Hitler impersonator have been spotted spending time among the crowds at a series of heated anti-Islam rallies on Sunday.

The man with the face tattoo proudly showed off his artwork at a Reclaim Australia event in Cessnock, New South Wales - on the state's central coast near Newcastle.

He was joined by scores more protesters supporting the far-right group, which claims it is stopping the spread of Islam to Australia.

However, he wasn't the most bizarrely-dressed supporter on the weekend, with a Hitler look-a-like making an appearance at the group's rally in Emma Miller Place in Brisbane.

The man, dressed in a purple button-up shirt and grey trousers, had his dark brown hair swept to the left hand side and an infamous toothbrush moustache visible on his upper lip.

The impersonator was captured spending much of his time next to another protester who held an Australian flag and posters.

He also appeared to be holding a large metal object in his left hand and Reddit users were quick to suggest he was in fact holding a bullet.

'Probably a decorative generic cartridge. Why you would wave one about in public is beyond me. Specially at a rally. How could that end well,' one Reddit user wrote.

People on Twitter also commented on the controversial haircut, but many said they were not shocked by the outlandish behaviour due to the nature of the dueling rallies.

'Who is surprised a guy who actually looks like Adolf Hitler ended up at the reclaim Australia rally,' one man asked.

A fence and strong police line separated the opposing Brisbane protesters and after their microphone failed, Reclaim Australia played Cold Chisel and AC/DC songs, The Brisbane Times reported.

Similar events were also held in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide on Sunday, with the far-right group clashing with anti-racism protesters and police at rallies.
