    For all it’s failures, the Australian health system, even the private system at its worst, doesn’t do this to people.

    So my dad is in hospital with complex problem. In a perennially top-ranked facility. Hes an MD. Im an MD, in systems mgmt 4 a huge bureaucracy. I can’t navigate my dads care. Im struggling-& LIVID. If i cant do this, no WAY anyone can When im calmer, y’all getting a thread

    'Professionalism' can perpetuate . The invocation to 'be more professional' can mean 'be less who you are' or 'be less outspoken' or 'be careful of repercussion'. The meaning of professionalism is constantly shifting and is usually defined in a top-down manner.

    As a surgeon, I see men with so many chronic, untreated injuries from football. I see what coaches demand of players, and the impossible recovery expectations. I don’t disagree that this toxic culture of injury isn’t great - but both men and women need protection from it.

    I often wonder whether a failure to communicate actual facts is a failure of comprehension or an error of accidental omission. Or whether some people are so scared about what they know they will discover that they would rather stick their fingers in their ears and sing la la la.

    As a woman, I find insulting. The left tells me bc of my genitalia, I earn less. THAT's a LIE. Stats show, women & men earn equally when our choices are the same. But we dont make identical choices. Dems ignore that. To scare women into voting Dem. It's insulting.
