Stephen Khan is The Conversation’s Editor in the UK. He was a news editor at The Guardian and previously Deputy Foreign Editor of The Independent and Scotland Editor of The Observer.

Before joining The Conversation as Executive Editor, Matt Warren was a magazine editor and features executive on The Daily Mail.

Emily graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2014 with an MA in Philosophy and English Literature. While at university, she worked as a media monitor for Press Data Ltd, interned with The Conversation UK and the St James Ethics Centre, and was news editor at The Journal - a Scottish student newspaper. She rejoined The Conversation in 2015, and completed an MSc in Media and Communications at London School of Economics in 2017.

Ruth comes from a background in the Welsh media, most recently working at the South Wales Evening Post. Before this, she worked as editor of a respected automotive industry publication.

Jonathan Este spent 20 years as a reporter, columnist and editor on The Independent as well as The Australian. He joins The Conversation from the Media Alliance in Australia where he specialised in media law and policy and the digital revolution in journalism.

Stephen covers science, technology and health for The Conversation. He previously spent five years as senior reporter and special projects editor at The Engineer, the world's oldest technology magazine and professional journal.

Paul has been a journalist for 16 years, working most recently as a news reporter for The Sun covering the north of England. Before that he worked as a multimedia journalist at The Press Association covering breaking news, court cases and major events. Paul began his career as a local newspaper reporter and crime correspondent and also works for the BBC. He is based in Manchester.

Jack joined The Conversation in 2018 after internships at Mongabay and The Press Association. He has a research background in marine biology and began his media career at university, where he reported on a fossil fuel divestment campaign for his campus paper. Jack covers energy and environment and is interested in climate change, biodiversity and political ecology. He is based in Newcastle.

Luke has worked as a journalist in the UK national press for 14 years, including a decade at the Daily Mail as a reporter and news editor. He is based in Bristol.

Steven Vass joined The Conversation in February 2014 after nearly 10 years at the Sunday Herald, first as media correspondent and then as deputy business editor, where he wrote about most aspects of business but particularly energy, the economy and the financial crisis. He previously spent several years as a VSO volunteer in Zambia and several more as a media analyst in London.

Clint has worked as a freelance journalist for the past 15 years. He has covered health, science and technology for The Economist, Intelligent Life, Newsweek, New Scientist, The Guardian and The Independent. He also wrote a book about his year as a clinical trial "guinea pig" for the male pill called Die Pille und Ich (Rowohlt). Clint holds an MSc in creative non-fiction writing from Imperial College London.

Chris joined The Conversation in May 2018. He previously worked for the Associated Press as Director of Strategy & Development and for the BBC as Chief of Staff where he advised the COO and Director-General. He has an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University and an MBA from London Business School.

Dinah Birch is an academic and literary critic. She is Professor of English Literature at the University of Liverpool, and currently serves as the university’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor for Cultural Engagement; she previously taught English at Trinity College, Oxford. She specialises in Victorian literature, and has published extensively on writers including Charles Dickens, Charlotte Brontë, Emily Brontë, and Alfred Tennyson. She was a member of the jury for the 2012 Man Booker Prize.

David Amigoni studied English and History at University College Cardiff, followed by an MA in Victorian Studies at Keele University. He obtained his PhD from the Liverpool Polytechnic which he later published as Victorian Biography in 1993. He has taught at Aberystwyth University and the University of Sunderland. Professor Nishan Canagarajah joined the University of Bristol in 1993 and became a Professor of Multimedia Signal Processing in 2004. Andrew Jaspan is the creator and co-founder of The Conversation. He launched the project in Australia in 2011 and was instrumental in seeing it established in the UK two years later.
