    Question for 2020 will not be taxing the rich, but how to do so, by how much, and whether we can break the 50 year trajectory of rolling-back high income, estate and corporate taxes. Approaches to these questions will reveal the clearest divisions among the Democratic contenders.

    The Trump tax cut was a giant smash and grab for corporations at the public till, its benefits plowed almost entirely into enhancing shareholder value, while the broad public is saddled with higher taxes and borrowing costs far into the future. Tax time making this plain as day.
