A fortnite ago Chris confused an ABC book review show with a plot to murder conservatives. Not a lot of credibility

This tweet shows the problem for Labor with fossil fuels. You can’t have a just transition if there’s no transition

Of course, some of the criticism is valid (see above). But the level of anger or even hatred currently directed at people trying to do a difficult job does concern me, and not just because I am one. Democratic institutions need journalism, and they need trust.

Some of the abuse directed at journalists on this platform is deeply delusional. A lot of it is outright racist and misogynist. And much of the criticism is untethered from an understanding of the difficulties of doing journalism well.

There is much to criticise in the contemporary mediascape, and I agree with many of the criticisms. Access journalism too close to power, one-sided hot takes reflexively re-upping culture wars talking points, or simple inaccuracy ... there's plenty to dislike. But ...

On the one hand I regret this post, given the anger it has stirred up. On the other hand, I have really enjoyed all the people who have genuinely engaged with me on the state of contemporary journalism ...

I am about halfway through analytic philosopher ’s Down Girl: The Logic of Misogyny. It’s excellent for many reasons, but in particular, I appreciate that it has clarified for me a particular dilemma I run into as a social scientist who studies gender.

Grey favours are endemic in the way parties do business. Stacking statutory organisations with corporate sector mates. At one stage Chair, CEO and Head Policy were . Every recommendation from that point was privatisation of public infrastructure
