EINOT KEDEM

As a result of the shocking 1977 tragedy in which 54 air force soldiers lost their lives in a helicopter accident, a memorial was erected at the point of collision in The Jordan Valley.

Joining together with Kibbutz Yetev, Amana established a small community by the name of Einat Kedem near this memorial. This community also served the purpose of slowing the encroachment of Arabs onto land vacated by various army bases in the area.

Naama and Omer Atidiah, working the land here, fell in love, were married and continue to bring fruit forth from this previously arid land. Three teens helped them in this Zionist endeavor.

In addition to the 2000 dunam of agriculture that they industriously work, they also care for 200 head of sheep.

This incredible reviving of the land with the crops of our Fathers is a venture which, it is hoped, will also prove economically beneficial.
