    Excellent point. Why do we allow these highly un-democratic practices to continue? There are so many things wrong with our electoral system & lack of a national election system, yet most ppl. don't want to hear it

    BTW, if you register as Independent, you're not an independent voter, you've just registered for the Independent Party. If you want to register as a lowercase independent voter, you have to register as "No Party Preference". But don't ever do that.

    Great thread by about how the Democratic Party works to nullify independent votes in primaries. I felt sick doing this, but I switched from No Party Preference to Democrat a few months ago.

    If you want to vote in the upcoming Democratic primary, and you've already registered as NPP, go online and you change your registration to Democrat. You can change back right afterwards. You can do whatever the heck you want. But protect your vote.

    I felt sick doing this, but I switched from No Party to Dem a few months ago. This is the best way to ensure our Dem primary votes are counted. See ’s reporting - even if state allows indies to vote in D primary, votes aren’t always counted!!

    I relate to that sentiment. But in our system there’s no good way to verify our votes. I was shocked to learn that in my state (CA), most 2016 Dem primary votes from those of us with No Party Preference (NPP) weren’t counted. It’s a shady vote suppression tactic.
