At headspace, we rely on community and corporate support to assist us in our work of supporting young people who are going through a tough time. We're privileged to work in partnership with some of Australia's leading organisations to help support young people and raise awareness of youth mental health. Much of our work has been made possible due to the financial contributions and support our corporate partners provide.

We seek to engage all partners in long term, strategic and mutually beneficial relationships. Together with our valued partners, we pool resources and ideas to create a range of innovative and vital programs that directly benefit young people from around Australia.

Corporate Partners

Our national corporate partners support us in the following ways.

Peter, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Program

Future Generation Global Investment Company

FGG supports the headspace Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Traineeship Program. This program contributes to the development of a sustainable Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander mental health and wellbeing workforce in regional and remote areas of Australia, ensuring all young people can access culturally relevant, appropriate and effective mental health services.

Under this program, two young trainees supported by headspace Darwin and a coordinator, undertake the Certificate IV in Mental Health. Future employment opportunities are already being explored for the trainees.

Rest

Since 2013, our partnership with Rest has assisted headspace in the area of community awareness and engagement. Since 2013, Rest has supported headspace’s presence at Australia’s largest music festival, Groovin in the Moo where we run the headspace Help Desk, extending our ability to raise awareness of our service in regional communities across Australia.

In addition to this, Rest supports the production of the video series, headspace Stories. Rest has also provided funding for much needed computers as part of our Digital Work and Study Service.

Viva Energy Australia

Our three year partnership with Viva Energy Australia focuses on providing support for young people to become mental health role models in their communities. These young people work towards reducing stigma associated with mental health issues and promoting help seeking.

Viva funding has created opportunities for young people across four headspace centres and the headspace Youth National Reference Group, hYNRG to learn new skills and build their confidence to become mental health advocates and deliver events that encourage local community engagement.

Chatime

Chatime, Australia’s fastest growing iced tea franchise have come on-board as headspace’s newest partner in 2018. Chatime are committed to improving the mental health and wellbeing of tertiary students, and through our partnership we will develop a set of resources aimed at this group.

With almost 100 T-breweries across Australia and the majority of Chatime staff, members and customers under the age of 25, this partnership will allow us to engage and share mental health messages with a lot of young people!

Community Partners

National Rugby League

As one of the NRL’s State of Mind campaign partners, we have been working together to present mental health education programs to grassroots Rugby League clubs across Australia, to reduce stigma and promote help seeking behaviour.

We were also very appreciative of the National Rugby League’s support for the headspace Yarn Safe campaign for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people.

Riot Games Oceanic League

In February 2018, as part of their Oceanic Pro League fixture, Riot Games delivered the headspace Round. Throughout the headspace Round, we worked with Riot Games to deliver messages aimed at helping young gamers, predominately young men, maintain their mental health, and look out for their mates when they’re having a tough time.

Working with the professional players, these messages were delivered through video content, articles, group chats and social media posts – with the consistent messaging that it’s important, to make time for looking after your mental health.

In an online competitive environment that gamers inhabit for several hours each day, this collaboration is important, providing us with access to a market that can be very difficult to reach.

headspace and Riot Games look forward to working together to promote mental health literacy within online gaming communities.

In 2016, headspace was selected to be a Jellis Craig Foundation charity partner. Staff from Jellis Craig offices are encouraged to participate in raising awareness and fundraising for headspace via the Jellis Craig Foundation.

In 2017, the Jellis Craig Foundation committed funds to support our Food for Thought program, which aims to increase the confidence, skills and knowledge of key staff in secondary schools to enable them to identify early, intervene appropriately and support young people who may be experiencing disordered eating and other early warning signs of an emerging eating disorder.

Kmart

In 2017, Kmart began collecting donations for headspace through their self-service checkouts in Queensland, the Northern Territory, Tasmania and Western Australia. From February right through to the end of October these stores were raising funds through a spare change coin collection.

Kmart’s community program helps young people in their communities to thrive by supporting headspace programs that are focused on youth self-resilience and wellbeing.
