A message from Dave Emory (April 2019)

It is very good indeed to be producing new programs, after a bout with life-threatening disease that prevented me from doing so for two years. Unfortunately, the events of our time bear witness to the growing need for the research I have done over the decades.

Fortunately for all of us, the good folks at WFMU have stuck with me through thick and thin and are not only continuing to archive the For The Record shows on audio, but are podcasting the programs as well.

In the contemporary media environment, it would be impossible to exaggerate the importance of WFMU making this information available to people via their mobile technology, enabling listeners to both use, and archive, the information in a manner integral with the taxing, busy lifestyle demands of our time. Podcast recipients of the For The Record programs can now inform themselves about the operations and manifestations of historical and contemporary fascism "on the go," so to speak.

I emphatically encourage WFMU listeners to do two things:

First, direct as much financial support to WFMU as you can, to enable the perpetuation of this vital, unique media voice. THAT is what community radio is all about.

Second, alert others to WFMU's podcasting of For The Record, in order to maximize the number of people consuming the information via contemporary media technology.

All of my life's work, a "mini-library" of old anti-fascists on easy-to-use PDF files, article-length, annotated descriptions of the For The Record broadcasts, contributions from a brilliant contributing editor and information about how to subscribe to comments and how to obtain a flash drive containing all of my life's work can be found at: Spitfirelist.com
