If you love to travel, but cannot stand leaving your favourite pooch behind, you are not alone.

New research from Booking.com has revealed that 78 per cent of Australians put their furry friends first when booking a holiday, with almost half (40 percent) feeling guilty if they leave their pets behind.

Booking.com has now collated a list of the top pet-friendly accommodation options around Australia.

Reflecting the huge variety of alternative accommodation options available on the site, this includes apartments, holiday homes, villas and resorts.

Smith's Lake House, NSW

If you fancy a weekend getaway with your pooch, Smith's Lake House offers a pawfect outdoor escape.
