How Facebook's Ad Review Process Works

How the Facebook Ad Review Process Works

When you create ads on Facebook, they'll be subject to a review process to see if they comply with our Advertising Policies. We'll check your ad's images, text, audience and positioning and the content on your ad's landing page.

Your ad may not be approved if the landing page:

  • Isn't fully functional
  • Doesn't match the product or service promoted in your ad
  • Doesn't fully comply with our Advertising Policies

The ad review process may begin as soon as you finish creating your ad and click Promote. It can take up to 24 hours. Remember that by clicking Promote, you agree to the Facebook Terms of Service and are obligated to comply with the Self-Serve Ad Terms in the Facebook Advertising Guidelines.

If your ad is found to be in violation of any Facebook Advertising Policies, it will be subject to disapproval. If that happens, we'll send a Facebook notification and email to the address associated with your ad account. You can use the information from the email to figure out how to make your ad compliant with our Advertising Policies.

Now that you know about the ad review process, we'll tell you what you can do if your ad is not approved.
