Barry may refer to:
Barry is both a given name and a surname. The given name is an Anglicised form of several Irish personal names, whilst the surname has numerous etymological origins, and is derived from both place names and personal names.
The given name Barry is an Anglicised form of various names stemming from the Irish names Finnbarr ("fair-topped", "fair-haired") and Barrfind ("fair-headed", "fair-haired"). For example, Barry is sometimes derived from the Irish Bairre, Barra, and Barre, which are in turn forms of the name Barrfind. Furthermore, Barry is sometimes an Anglicised form of the Irish Finnbarr, which also has short forms of Bairre, Barra, and Barre. Similarly, Barry is sometimes an Anglicised form of the latter short form Barra. In other cases, Barry is an Anglicised form of the Irish Berach ("pointed", "sharp"). The given name Barry is one of many names, used throughout the world, that is derived from Gaelic. Since the twentieth century, the name has become very popular in Australia. A variant form of the given name is Barrie. Pet forms of the name are Baz and Bazza. Barry is both a given name for males and a surname, being the English form of the Irish names Bareth (short for Fionnbharrth), Barra, Barrath, Barenth, Barold, Bearrach, Barizard or Finbarr.
"Islands in the Stream" is a song written by Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb from the Bee Gees whose title is taken from the Ernest Hemingway novel and sung by American country music artists Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. It was released in August 1983 as the first single from Rogers' album Eyes That See in the Dark and the second pop number-one for both Rogers and Parton (after Rogers' "Lady" in 1980 and Parton's "9 to 5" in 1981). The Gibbs originally wrote the song for Marvin Gaye in an R&B style, only later to change it for the Kenny Rogers album.
The song reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, as well as Country and Adult Contemporary charts. It has also been certified Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America for selling over two million physical copies in the US. In 2005 the song topped CMT's poll of the best country duets of all time; Parton and Rogers reunited to perform the song on the CMT special.
Rogers and Parton went on to record a Christmas album together, and had an additional hit with their 1985 duet "Real Love".

When we floated on waves of water
We were something something dark and slick
I like your style ah man we move together
Ah ha we were dancing through doorways and motels
Big hot summer day, it was ? july ?
Streets of angels streets of freedom
But you probably may know why
Do you remember the singing the dancing
The curly waves, the lovely jokes you said.
Neither waiting at the sound of desire
Last tuck you always say makes you a man
Aw barry you should have danced with me all night long
Yah all night long
'cause you got so much to give
There were times when I had to know
You had so much to give
You should have danced with me danced with me
'cause you had so much to give
