Gas workers in Australia today mark 700 days since beginning a picket against Exxon Mobil & UGL/CIMIC, after the company slashed wages by up to 40%, cut 40 years of hard fought conditions, stripped a number of employee allowances & imposed a stand down clause that will see workers at work, but without pay.

PSI Statement Following the Detention of Trade Unionists in Fiji Whilst ADB Watches On

As the Asian Development Bank (ADB) annual meeting concludes in Nadi, Fiji, PSI expresses our outrage and dismay that the Government of Fiji marked the event, which coincided with May Day, with the arrest and detention of trade unionists, including the General Secretary of our affiliate, the Fiji Nursing Association, Salanieta Matiavi.
