The young YouTube star known as 'Soph', a 14-year-old high school freshman from the Bay Area, became the center of debate after a highly critical Buzzfeed article published on Monday. The article highlights a crude video called 'Be Not Afraid,' in which Soph dresses in a chador and explains sarcastically that she has become 'devout follower of the Prophet Muhammad' and laments that she gets 'raped by my 40-year-old husband every so often'. The rest of the 20-minute video goes on to blast internet outrage culture and encourage young people to speak their minds without fear of being offensive.

A Florida agency is investigating potential animal cruelty charges after Clearwater lawyer Thomas Cope (inset) posted video of himself shooing a raccoon off his boat into the Gulf of Mexico. Cope posted the video (shown at left and right) to Facebook showing the raccoon falling off the boat into the water, as a man's voice can be heard saying, 'So long, sucker.' He later apologized. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said in a statement that it learned of the video on May 8 and began an investigation and that 'these vile acts of animal cruelty' are intolerable. Anyone with additional information about what happened has been asked to call the Wildlife Alert Hotline at 1-888-404-3922.

Thomas J. Summerwill of Campton Hills, Illinois, is charged with two counts of second-degree murder in the March 24 death of 53-year-old Mary Summerwill. A Kane County judge on Tuesday set bond at $300,000 for the 21-year-old man. Summerwill, who had just finished his junior year at University of Wisconsin-Madison, was expected to post bail, said his attorney, Liam Dixon. Dixon said Summerwill thought his mother was an intruder in his bedroom when he struck her with a sport memorabilia baseball bat that had been hanging on his wall.

New York Governor Andrew Cuomo and his longtime partner, TV chef Sandra Lee, have been forced to deny rumors that they have separated and are no longer living together. Cuomo, 61, and Lee, 52, (pictured), who have been dating for 14 years, spoke out as it was reported they have been living separate lives for several months.Lee, who is best-known for her Semi-Homemade brand of cookbooks, magazines and TV shows, has been dividing her time between her home in Battery Park City in Manhattan and California.Meanwhile Cuomo, who was previously married to Robert Kennedy's daughter Kerry,  is living and working at the Executive Mansion in Albany, sources told Page Six.'They have been living together at her home in Mount Kisco, Westchester, (pictured inset), where Cuomo had cared for her following her breast cancer diagnosis in 2015.[Cuomo] has moved out of her home in Westchester, and he has moved into the governor’s mansion in Albany,' a source close to Cuomo told Page Six. Another friend claimed their living situation has remained the same for months.It is understood that real estate agents have been at the location the Mount Kisco property ahead of putting it on the market.Speculation had mounted that the pair had parted ways previously when Lee was notably absent from the Governor’s campaign website as he sought re-election and appeared to be making a bid for the Presidential election.

Magnetic limpet mines were used to blow holes in Saudi oil tankers in the Gulf of Yemen yesterday, experts believe. The mysterious 'sabotage' has sent tensions spiralling in the Middle East as the U.S. blamed Iran and its allies for the attack - but both sides today tried to calm the situation. Iranian supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei said today there 'won't be any war' while Donald Trump's Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, said the U.S. 'fundamentally does not seek any war' with Iran. It came as two pumping stations on a major Saudi oil pipeline were today attacked by explosive-laden drones, halting the flow of crude along it - just two days after the sabotage of four tankers off the UAE coast.

The dress, which gathered in pleats across her left shoulder, was strapless on one side, with the beautiful silk fabric flowing to the ground.

Former Vice President Joe Biden agreed with a woman on Tuesday who called President Donald Trump an 'illegitimate president' who was elected with the help of Russian President Vladimir Putin..The exchange came about at a house party in Nashua, N.H., when the former vice president was taking questions from the crowd of voters. 'He is an illegitimate president in my mind,' she said of the Trump to applause and cheers from the crowd. 'Would you be my Vice Presidential candidate?,' Biden responded to laughter and cheers. 'Folks look I absolutely agree,' he added.

The world's highest-paid radio host reflects on his 33 years in the industry in his new memoir Howard Stern Comes Again, admitting that he was a 'maniac' early in his career. 'I have so many regrets about guests from that time,' Stern writes in the book, which hit the shelves on Tuesday. 'Possibly my biggest regret was my interview with Robin Williams.' Stern, who is infamous for asking his guests about their sex lives, interviewed the 'Mrs. Doubtfire' actor in the early 90s. Williams had recently divorced his wife of 10 years Valerie Velardi after cheating on her with their infant son Zach's nanny Marsha Garces. He married the mistress in 1989, one year after the divorce, while she was pregnant with their first child. 'I was attacking the guy, and he was justifiably furious with me,' Stern writes.

As Comey's behaviour has recently grown more defensive and erratic, there is a mounting belief that he and his FBI agents illegally cut corners and broke the rules in their zealous desire to stop Trump becoming President, and later - under Director McCabe - have him removed when he did. If that is now proven to be true, then the repercussions for all those involved will be incredibly serious and probably involve some of them going to prison. Comey needs to be asked, under oath, at what stage did he decide to proceed from a preliminary investigation or inquiry (a 'PI') to a full-blown investigation (an 'FI')?

The president appeared in a buoyant mood ahead of the meeting in Lake Charles with Louisiana Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser, who flashed the playful socks to Trump and the assorted press before the pair shook hands. The socks, made by Gumball Poodle, are available to buy on Amazon for $25 and are described as 'Donald Trump socks with soft, luxurious hair you can style, comb over, clip and tease. Change the President's style to suit your mood!' The lieutenant governor then  shared numerous images on social media of his exchange with the president.

Virginia carnival worker James Wright (left in mugshot and right) has been charged with killing three young women in two states over the course of 18 days, in what he described as accidental shootings. Killed between February 28 and March 17 were (top to bottom), 17-year-old Jocelyn Alsup, 22-year-old Elizabeth Vanmeter, and 25-year-old Athina Hopson. Police found bodies believed to be those of Alsup and Vanmeter buried on properties near Wright's home in Virginia. Hopson's body has not been recovered.

Former fans of the teenage beauty guru are showing their displeasure with the YouTuber by taking it out on his makeup palette. The 19-year-old collaborated with Morphe on a $39 eyeshadow palette, which was incredibly popular after its November release - but since his feud with fellow beauty influencer Tati Westbrook captivated social media users, many customers are left feeling less than thrilled with their purchase.  So some have taken to destroying it, with at least one dramatically lighting it on fire in a metal trash can while recording the scene for a TikTok video.

Shocking footage shows the moment a circus performer fell during a daring stunt in Ohio. The Garden Bros. Circus acrobat was taking part in a stunt that required him to maintain balance on top of two wheels rotating in a circle at the Huntington Center in Toledo.Footage recorded by by circus-goer Amber Ledford shows the artist, who has not been named, falling from a large circus wheel which appears to be a few feet away from the ground.He had been standing on top of it and then performed a somersault, attempting to land on top of the wheel. But it appears that he missed a step and then tumbled head-first towards the ground. The crowd reacted in shock and screams can be heard before paramedics rush to the scene to help the acrobat.The fall happened as the wheel rotated closer to the ground and not at its highest point, which could have resulted in more serious injuries for the performer.His partner eventually got down from his own wheel and rushed down a ladder to help him.

The incident took place at around 2:45pm near a golf course in Klein, which is about 30 miles north of Houston. The Klein Fire Department said that dirt in the trench buried the man up to his chest. The man is alert and is talking to firefighters during rescue efforts. The man was doing utility work in the area. At one point, he got off a piece of excavating equipment and went into the hole. Officials said the ground near the trench was unstable, causing it to collapse.

Canadian-born former model Lady Spencer (pictured with Earl Spencer at Royal Ascot in 2015, inset) is still settling in to her first year living full time at Althorp (estate exterior bottom left), the final resting place of Princess Diana. She started planning renovations around three years ago, when Earl Spencer tasked her with remodelling the island in the middle of the manor's ornamental lake where Diana is buried. Countess Spencer (pictured in one of the many rooms with her husband, bottom right), 46, famously installed a bouncy castle in the silk-lined dining room for her six-year-old daughter Lady Charlotte. But that's not all she's been up to. In an interview with Town and Country Magazine she revealed she has shaken up the classic English country house weekend. The man (center in the left image) allegedly threatened a pedestrian in Tijuana with a knife before fleeing when cops approached him. The chase ended close to the San Isidro border crossing with San Diego, and the incident sparked extensive delays on Monday. Images from the scene show a damaged black Chevrolet with Utah plates close to the crossing.

A tense standoff on Dallas Interstate 635 on Friday ended up with one driver bashing his rival's car with a baseball bat before his own car was rammed from behind, causing his hatchback to spin around and face the heavy oncoming traffic. The incredible footage was captured by another driver on the busy road.

Firefighter Captain John Nanninga (at left, and inset left) in Texas took in 11-month-old Duran (in his arms, and at right) when his mother, Corterra Payton (inset at right), feared she'd have to spend the night in her car after being turned away from a homeless shelter. Payton said she left her home with her son late on Monday because she feared an argument with her boyfriend would turn violent. In Texas, the Baby Moses Law, also called the Safe Haven Law, designates safe baby sites where parents who are unable to care for their newborns who are 60 days old or younger can take their children, with no questions asks. Payton was grateful the southwest Houston Fire Station 68 was able to help, despite Duran being nearly one year old. Her plan now is for the child to stay with his grandmother and other relatives in Cleveland, while she stays at a shelter for the night and works to get on her feet.

Texas police have released horrifying new bodycam footage that shows the moment an officer shot and injured a man who was stabbing a woman to death. The incident unfolded just after 6.30am on December 15, 2017, after officers from the Austin Police Department received multiple 911 calls about a man stabbing a woman at a home on Lynnwood Street. In the video, the man, who was later identified as Aubrey Garrett, 52, is seen standing over Andrea Faye Lindsey and stabbing her with the knife. 'Put the knife down dude,' Officer Delvalle is heard saying. But Garrett ignored the order and tried to continue attacking Lindsey. The officer then fires one shot at Garrett, striking him along his lower body. On the same morning of the stabbing, Garrett pleaded guilty to the crime. He was later sentenced to 40 years in prison for first-degree murder.

The California will feature a machine that creates artificial waves in the vessel's swimming pool, allowing passengers to grab their boards and ride the swell without having to get in the sea. The 135-metre-long (442ft) boat will also boast its own waterfall as well as a bowling alley and a desalination system to turn seawater into drinking water. The design concept has been created by Norwegian yacht designer Kurt Strand. It also includes a club style lounge area with bar, night club, games room, gym with a Turkish bath, massage studio and a wellness spa.

Tony Lucero jumped in to his family's pool after one-year-old Cookie slipped on the edge and fell in to the water in Lakewood Caifornia, US. The dog had been trying to skirt around garden furniture which did not leave much of a walkway around the pool. Misjudging its ability to fit through narrow spaces the bulldog slipped and plummeted straight to the bottom of the pool. Capturing the moment the family gathered around CCTV to watch the dramatic incident unfold was Tony's sister Elena Lucero, a college student.

As the students gather to dance to the groovy music, little Bryce, from Detroit, Michigan, jumps in and quickly wins over the crowd's attention with his swift moves. He can be seen bopping around and pulling impressive hip hop moves as the patygoers form a circle around him and begin filming him.

Thirty-three-year-old makeup mogul Jeffree Star unveiled his secret pink vault, which contains his most valuable possessions, in his latest video for his YouTube channel. Since the video was uploaded Friday, May 10, it has accumulated more than 10 million views. Jeffree, best known for his makeup-focused YouTube channel, that boasts over 14 million subscribers, revealed that his vault is secured with an armed guard who stands inside the closet 24 hours every day. Among the most expensive are two Hermes Niloticus Crocodile Himalaya Birkin bags, one of which is worth approximately $379,200 (top right) as well as and a Louis Vuitton Soft Trunk that is worth around $33,000. One of his favorite pairs of shoes are a pair of limited edition Christian Louboutin Swarovski crystal boots (bottom right).

A fight broke out at a California sushi restaurant after a white man hurled racist insults at several Hispanic and African-American patrons and even made ape-like gestures at them because he had to wait for seating. In the video, the man was told that there was a wait time for seating at the packed Aburi Premium AYCE Sushi restaurant in Long Beach on Sunday. The man, who was with a woman, is heard arguing with restaurant employees about seating when he tells a woman: 'F**king look over there b***h!' That prompted another man in the background to yell: 'Yo, get the f**k out!' After several F-bombs, the man then makes ape-like gestures at the patrons and is heard calling someone a 'monkey man'. While the man was still yelling, a black woman threw at least five punches at him after he lunged at another diner.

Little Lily outshone her classmates in a performance at a church in Ohio on Wednesday. The five-year-old's grandmother, Martina Blair, filmed her 'hysterical little blessing' enthusiastically bobbing to the rhythm of the kid's song 'Tooty Ta' with her tongue stuck out and eyes shut. In the video, the audience can be heard laughing as they start to notice the preschooler's hilarious moves. Blair said Lily was a 'natural performer'.

Wolfgang Wild has always been fascinated with the past, and in 2010 he launched a blog called Retronaut. 'It took off very quickly,' Wild told DailyMail.com. 'One of the posts went viral within the first few weeks. And it grew from there.' After several years and posting thousands of archival images, Wild decided he wanted to turn his attention to color images, and started a new website called the Lost Colour Library. The online collection features images, such as the ones above of 1950s America that show the country from coast to coast: a ferry crossing the river from New York City, inset, to San Francisco, top right, to Chicago, main, to a storefront in Michigan, bottom left.

Tear-jerking footage shows five-year-old Phoenix take on his belt test at Bobby Dixon's American Martial Arts Academy on May 6 in Orlando. The youngster struggles to break a board with a kick, bursting into tears of frustration after repeated failed attempts. With the support of his fellow students, Phoenix eventually snaps the board in two, sending the room into cheers and applause as his friends rush to hug him.

Gina Warren, 18, of Ashville, plans to use her graduation from Teays Valley High School on Sunday to honor those killed in school shootings before they could graduate. She will wear a commencement cap with a QR code linked to a list of victims of American high school shootings in the last 20 years, starting with Columbine. The web page asks viewers to 'protect our students.' The teen posted a video of her creation on Twitter, where it was shared more than 90,000 times.

A woman brought her car in to be repaired at a shop in Tambov, Russia. And her dashcam captured the moment the car rolled out of the shop when the repairs had been completed. But rather than stopping when she applied the breaks the car just kept on rolling down the hill. A confused car mechanic seems not to notice what has happened until it is too late. Just seconds later the car skids down a bank and sinks in to a river.

Dashcam footage shows a man known only as Mr Fan, from Fujian, driving along the road in Lishui, Zhejiang province. Suddenly, the tyre bounces over the lane barrier, to his left, and hurtles into his windshield. The impact shattered the windscreen, leaving a large hole. Mr Fan suffered cuts to his hands and left ear from the broken glass.
