    I recently went barefoot at my graduation to honour my ancestors. decided it needed a name and coined the term . Have you been a Barefoot Blakademic? How will or how did you rep your mob? Let me know and I'll retweet them throughout the day!

    Yesterday I graduated with my Masters at . I honoured my ancestors by doing it in the best way I could by walking across the stage barefoot. My people never wore shoes during ceremonies so I saw no reason why I should at this ceremony.

    It began as a comparison of what you can learn through using either method on their own and whether you can find out the same info that Adnyamathanha people know, through solely using archaeological methods. Ultimately Indigenous knowledge of place provides a better understanding

    Can you go into more detail about how you synthesised these two streams? Your methods and approach? Only if possible and its not ending up in a paper soon, confidential, etc.

    Not yet, but I am interested in hearing if there are archaeologists who are Indigenous across the world who call themselves something other than an archaeologist.

    I am currently working at the in the humanities team but I'm also fortunate to work at helping Indigenous postgraduate students. Although technically trained as an archaeologist I'm not 100% sure about calling myself one just yet.

    The colonial legacy the world over has plagued Indigenous ppl with similar challenges. Still we stand. Your attempts to destroy us have not prevailed & you continue to fail as the so called ‘parents’ of our children, largely removed as a result of trauma you have caused 🖤💛❤️
