Thomas Lewis (12 December 1873 – 28 February 1962) was a British trade unionist, local councillor and Labour Member of Parliament (MP).
He was born in the St. Mary's area of Southampton, the son of dock labourer from Jersey in the Channel Islands. Lewis began work as a watchmaker at the age of 11. He became involved with the Social Democratic Federation at some point in the late 1880s. He went on to serve a total of nine years on the Federation's National Executive. In 1901, Lewis was elected as Southampton's first Labour councillor. He served on the Borough council until 1961, except for two short breaks totalling 18 months
He was selected by Southampton Trades Council to contest the Southampton constituency in the January 1910 General Election but was forced to withdraw through lack of funds. He stood as a candidate at the 1918, 1922, 1923 and 1924 elections, before finally being elected at 1929 general election, along with Ralph Morley, as Southampton's first Labour MPs. He lost the seat at the 1931 general election, having been among the Labour MPs who refused to follow the Prime Minister and Labour Party Leader Ramsay MacDonald into a coalition with the Conservatives to form the National Government. He returned to the House of Commons at the age of 72 in the Labour landslide at the 1945 general election, but retired from national politics when the two-seat Southampton constituency was divided at the 1950 general election.
Tommy Lewis was a Welsh professional footballer who played for New Brighton.
In 1929 Lewis was selected for the Football Association of Wales tour of Canada but these matches were not classed as international cap matches. Lewis and Bob Pugh of Newport County were the only two players in the squad not to attain full international caps either before or after the tour.

Thomas Edison Lewis (October 7, 1931 – October 12, 2014) was an American gridiron football player. He played fullback for the Alabama Crimson Tide in the 1951, 1952 and 1953 seasons. He wore number 34. He scored two touchdowns in the team's 1953 Orange Bowl victory over Syracuse.
In the first quarter of the 1954 Cotton Bowl Classic against Rice, he scored his team's only touchdown to give The Tide a 6–0 lead. Lewis is best remembered for his second quarter off-the-bench tackle of Rice’s halfback Dicky Moegle on a running play that started at the Rice 5-yard line. Moegle took the handoff and raced along the sideline near the Alabama bench. As Moegle passed midfield, Lewis sprang from the bench to tackle Moegle. The referee awarded Rice a 95 yard touchdown on the play. Rice won the game, 28–6.
Lewis also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) with the Ottawa Rough Riders.
In 1962, Lewis became the head coach of the Huntsville Rockets, an expansion club in the minor Dixie Professional Football League.
A lewis (sometimes called a lewisson) is one of a category of lifting devices used by stonemasons to lift large stones into place with a crane, chain block, or winch. It is inserted into a specially prepared hole, or seating, in the top of a stone, directly above its centre of mass. It works by applying principles of the lever and utilises the weight of the stone to act on the long lever-arms which in turn results in a very high reaction force and friction where the short lever-arms make contact with the stone inside the hole and thereby prevents slipping.
The name lewis may come from the Latin levo -avi, -atum meaning to levitate or lift, but the Oxford English Dictionary Online states, "the formation and the phonology are not easily explained on this hypothesis", preferring "origin obscure", and speculating that the term may derive from a personal name. The Romans used the lewis. The specially shaped hole that is shaped to fit the device is known as a lewis hole. Lewis holes in the uppermost masonry coursings are neatly repaired with matching indented plugs after the stone has been set in place.
Lewis (first name and dates unknown) was an English cricketer who was associated with Middlesex and made his first-class debut in 1830.
Lewis is a crater on the far side of the Moon. It lies along the western edge of the Montes Cordillera mountains that surround the Mare Orientale impact basin. This crater has been heavily disrupted by the formation of the basin, and it is covered by ejecta from the impact leaving only an uneven depression in the surface. The outer rim is roughly circular, and the interior is uneven.

In the early 90s of the 20th century, the American public dreamed of seeing the battle of "Lewis vs Morrison". Why? The answer is simple - hatred of Lennox and exaltation of Tommy. Lewis was a "hellish mixture" - a British, with Jamaican roots, who has Canadian citizenship. Not about such a hegemon of heavy weight did America dream of. Is it the case of Morrison! Golden Boy. Duke of Boxing. The embodiment of the American dream... #Boxing #TommyMorrison #LennoxLewis

I was visiting my friend Tommy Lewis when he grabbed a guitar and did an impromptu version of his song "I Love My Truck". I love the energy and humor of this unplanned living-room performance. Here's the lyrics: I love my truck, it's right outside. I like my Cadillac and my motorbike but I guess I'd rather drive, the old '47 Powerwagon, 360 5 on the floor. I love my truck, it's got a granny gear. Tow a double wide down any day hell I'll do it for a case of beer. Drop off the mutha load, take on some other loads, I'd go the rocky road, hea! I keep a pistol in my glove box, never used it, doubt I ever will... When I'm in my truck, good ole Lucy Belle, I'm close enough to heaven for this bat-out-of-hell. I love my truck, it's right outside. Hell you can kick my dog, kiss my...

MY LIFE Rexx/Valentine
He lost his mind. Ain’t life unkind?
So now he’s playin’ hide ‘n’ seek.
And when he’s not around then it’s lost ‘n’ found.
10 or 20 times a week.
Is he in the pink?
The doctors seem to think that it’s just a pill away.
My Life ain’t no high life, baby.
That high life. . . it ain’t my life, no!
The car got wrecked. Y’know the side effect. . .
Romance ain’t what it used to be.
But then now we know that the afterglow
Honey, is just a pill away. . .
My Life ain’t no high life, baby.
That high life. . . it ain’t my life, no.
A memory loss. And now she’s the boss.
And she knows just how she wants it done.
A level head? Remember what the doctor said,
‘Honey, it’s just a pill away. . .’
My Life ain’t no high life, baby.
