Director Wes Craven, who went on to fame as the force behind blockbuster horror films such as A Nightmare on Elm Street, departed from his favorite genre to film this unique cult classic -- a spoof on the mad scientist movies of the 1950s. Adrienne Barbeau stars as Alice Cable, a government agent sent to replace a man who has disappeared while guarding a secret experimental lab in the middle of the Louisiana bayous. Dressed in heels and a skirt, Cable professes unease at her strange new surroundings, but she is soon wooed by Dr. Alec Holland (Ray Wise). Holland is working on a concoction that combines plant and animal cells. Arcane (Louis Jourdan) is the criminal mastermind who is trying to steal the secret recipe for the potion. When Arcane and his mercenaries break into the government camp, they kill Holland's sister Linda (Nannette Brown) and the scientist is accidentally doused with his own formula and bursts into flames, then dives into the swamp. Arcane's men pursue Cable, but she is rescued by a mysterious green man. It takes several rescues for her to understand that the Swamp Thing (Dick Durock) is Dr. Holland, transformed by his own formula.

Swamp Thing (film)
Swamp Thing is a 1982 American science fiction film written and directed by Wes Craven, based on the DC Comics character of the same name created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. It tells the story of scientist Alec Holland (Ray Wise) who becomes transformed into the monster Swamp Thing (Dick Durock) through laboratory sabotage orchestrated by the evil Anton Arcane (Louis Jourdan). Later, he helps a woman named Alice (Adrienne Barbeau) and battles the man responsible for it all, the ruthless Arcane.
Plot
In the swamps of Savannah, Georgia, Dr. Alec Holland works with his sister Linda on a top-secret bio-engineering project to create a plant/animal hybrid capable of thriving in extreme environments. Government agent Alice Cable arrives just as Holland makes a major breakthrough, and begins to develop feelings for him. However, a paramilitary group led by the evil Dr. Anton Arcane, who is obsessed with immortality, kills Linda while trying to steal the formula for their own purposes. During the attack, Alice escapes and Alec is covered in chemicals, caught on fire, and runs screaming in the swamp, presumably to die. However, he returns as a monstrously mutated plant creature. As the Swamp Thing, Holland battles Arcane's forces to protect Cable, and eventually takes on Arcane himself, also mutated by the Holland formula.

Mark Lindsay Chapman
Mark Lindsay Chapman (born 8 September 1954, London) is an English film and television actor.
His credits include: Max Headroom, Dallas (as Brett Lomax), Falcon Crest (as Charley St. James), Baywatch, Murder, She Wrote, Lois and Clark, JAG, Charmed, Roland Burke in The Young and the Restless, Dr. Anton Arcane (1990–1993) in Swamp Thing, and Nick Hopewell in The Langoliers. He also portrayed Chief Officer Henry Tingle Wilde in the 1997 film Titanic.
A Paramount internal memo dated from 1987 has revealed that Chapman was once considered for the part of Data in Star Trek: The Next Generation. The similarity between his name and that of John Lennon's murderer, Mark David Chapman, prevented him in 1985 from playing Lennon in John and Yoko: A Love Story, a biographical film produced by NBC. The role went instead to Mark McGann. Chapman's real name surfaced when the story was published in Britain, and reporters began making inquiries about the actor, who was then working as a bricklayer with his father. He had changed his name when he joined Equity, because there was already a Mark Chapman in the union. Eventually he did portray Lennon, in Chapter 27, a film about Mark David Chapman, released in 2007 at the Sundance Film Festival.

Dick Durock
Richard "Dick" Durock (January 18, 1937 – September 17, 2009) was an American stuntman and actor who appeared in over eighty films and over seven hundred television episodes.
Biography
He was known for playing Swamp Thing in both the feature films Swamp Thing and The Return of Swamp Thing and the subsequent television show. Durock also played a Hulk-like creature on the television series The Incredible Hulk, two part episode titled "The First", where it was revealed that David Banner was not the first man to become a creature; another scientist accidentally created one "about thirty years ago" while similarly seeking a way to use radiation to increase strength. "The First" remains one of the most popular episodes of the series. Durock also appeared in the Clint Eastwood films The Enforcer (1976) and Any Which Way You Can (1980) as well as Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze (1975), and Falcon Crest in 1983 in the second season finale as a henchman for The Cartel. Durock also made a brief yet memorable appearance in Rob Reiner's film Stand by Me as a county fair pie-eating champion.

Adrienne Barbeau stars as Alice Cable, a government agent sent to replace a man who has disappeared while guarding a secret experimental lab in the middle of the Louisiana bayous. Dressed in heels and a skirt, Cable professes unease at her strange new surroundings, but she is soon wooed by Dr. Alec Holland (Ray Wise). Holland is working on a concoction that combines plant and animal cells. Arcane (Louis Jourdan) is the criminal mastermind who is trying to steal the secret recipe for the potion. When Arcane and his mercenaries break into the government camp, they kill Holland's sister Linda (Nannette Brown) and the scientist is accidentally doused with his own formula and bursts into flames, then dives into the swamp. Dressed in heels and a skirt, Cable professes unease at her strange new surroundings, but she is soon wooed by Dr. Alec Holland (Ray Wise). Franny and a Dragon come to the conclusion that table manners may be a good idea after all.// Franny visits a swamp and meets a frog who learns that sometimes a joke can go too far.
Where will my feet take me today? Each 11' episode sees Franny off on a different adventure. She puts on the fisherman's boots and lands on a trawler in the middle of the Atlantic. Franny's Feet lets children explore the bigger world and shows them that you are never too small or too young to be a big help.
FRANNY’S FEET is a delightfully animated pre-school series that tells exciting stories of a little girl whose fantastic feet take her on magical adventures when she tries on shoes in her grandfather’s repair shop. In each episode Franny travels to a different part of the world where she meets fascinating characters with unusual problems. The series combines wonderful storytelling with learning for pre-schoolers as Franny makes a friend of the audience, sharing her feelings, fears and advice and teaching them along the way about empathy, co-operation and appreciating the diversity in others. You are never too small or too young to be a big help.The series is a commission from Five in the UK and the Family Channel in Canada. It also airs on PBS in the United States, ABC in Australia, France 5 and Cartoon Network in Japan.
