    Thank you , & for working to in MPLS. It's strange Star Tribune Opinion & biz lobbyists decided to argue against laws that punish employers who steal wages from MN families, but ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.

    Some on Twitter may be too young to have been inspired by Al Gore's PowerPoints, but for this GenXer, seeing things we're working on become slides in Al's PowerPoint deck is very exciting. Proud of our work, through Mpls 2040 & otherwise to resist climate destruction. More to do!

    Instead of closing down as promised, Northern Metals are using procedural tricks in court and with the MPCA dispute resolution process to extend their operation as long as they can get away with.

    We have an important conversation ahead about whether we have the right MPD resources.We rely on accurate information from our Chief to inform that debate.This abrupt shift in messaging in the lead-up to budget season feels tactical. That's concerning, and hopefully not a trend.

    There has been press coverage of recent statements by our MPD police chief & the mayor about hiring more officers. It is important to put this into the context. Six weeks ago, the chief presented MPD results and stated that crime is down in Minneapolis:

    We don't get a lot of days where someone says something we did was the best thing since Prince, so let's enjoy today, , , and everyone who has worked with us to get prevention through committee.

    “This law is the best thing to happen to Minnesota since Prince”: At a public hearing, more than 20 people spoke in favor of a new Minneapolis ordinance  that would provide stronger protections for workers against wage theft.
