Tandy may refer to:
RadioShack is an American chain of wireless and electronics stores owned by the Standard General affiliate General Wireless. It is partnered with Sprint cell phones, and most stores are branded with "Sprint" though they also sell RadioShack items.
Founded in 1921, at its peak in 1999, it operated stores in the United States, Mexico, United Kingdom, Australia, and Canada. On February 5, 2015, the company filed for Chapter 11 protection under United States bankruptcy law after 11 consecutive quarterly losses. By then it was operating only in the United States and Mexico. On March 31, 2015, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Texas approved a $160 million offer by General Wireless, which gained ownership of 1,743 RadioShack locations, and immediately leased them to Sprint.
The company was started as "Radio Shack" in 1921 by two brothers, Theodore and Milton Deutschmann, who wanted to provide equipment for the then-nascent field of amateur, or ham radio. The brothers opened a one-store retail and mail-order operation in the heart of downtown Boston at 46 Brattle Street, near the site of the Boston Massacre. They chose the name "Radio Shack", which was the term for a small, wooden structure that housed a ship's radio equipment. The Deutschmanns thought the name was appropriate for a store that would supply the needs of radio officers aboard ships, as well as hams (amateur radio operators). The term was already in use — and is to this day — by hams when referring to the location of their stations.
The Radio Shack TRS-80 Color Computer (also marketed as the Tandy Color Computer and affectionately nicknamed CoCo) is a line of home computers based on the Motorola 6809 processor. The Color Computer was launched in 1980, and lasted through three generations of hardware until being discontinued in 1991.
Despite bearing the TRS-80 name, the "Color Computer" is a radical departure from the earlier TRS-80; in particular it has a Motorola 6809E processor, rather than the TRS-80's Zilog Z80. Thus, despite the similar name, the new machine is not compatible with software made for the old TRS-80.
The Motorola 6809E was an advanced processor for the time, but was correspondingly more expensive than other, more popular, microprocessors. Competing machines such as the Apple II, Commodore VIC-20, the Commodore 64, the Atari 400, and the Atari 800 were designed around the much cheaper MOS 6502. Some of these computers were paired with dedicated sound and graphics chips and were much more commercially successful in the 1980s home computer market.

Review from the perspective of a somewhat casual collector: is the 1000 series worth collecting today? A run-down of the history, pros and cons of the systems and games, what to look for and be aware of when buying. The PCjr may have failed, but Tandy? Tandy ruled. There are functions I wanted to talk about but ran out of time, like the ability to run in Hercules mode, further Deskmate and TL-related features and the upgrade options, but alas. Lots more information and troubleshooting at: http://www.oldskool.org/guides/tvdog/ LHX Attack Chopper Lemmings Out Run Thexder Firehawk Zeliard Arkanoid Also check out the Maxis games of the time, the Tandy versions are spectacular - SimCity, SimEarth, SimAnt etc Thanks to Yushatak for the Tandy! http://www.youtube.com/user/yushatak
Galera, no fim virou uma massinha/slime! Atenção: Não faça isso em casa!
Call it Tandy or call it Radio Shack the Color Computer line of home computers debuted in 1980 and ran into the early 90's. Often called the CoCo (for Color Computer) by its fans it still has a homebrew scene today!
Terry Stewart (tezza) talks about vintage/classic computers in his collection: The Tandy Radio Shack TRS-80 Model 1: A further description of the machine can be seen here: http://www.classic-computers.org.nz/collection/trs-80-model1.htm
Many computer users got their start with the TRS-80, the Tandy Color Computer, or the Model 100 portable computer. This program looks at the role Radio Shack played in the early launch of personal computers and the hordes of users who still love their old Tandy PCs. Featured demonstrations include the Tandy 2500 SX/20, the Tandy 4033 LX, the GRiD 1550cd, the GRiD 325sc. Also shown is the original TRS-80 and some of the earlier cassette based software such as Dancing Demon. Guests include Howard Elias, Vice President of Tandy Computers and Mark Paulson, leader of the Color Computer User's Group. Originally broadcasted in 1991.
Soyez Tandy. »
I don't like to be alone
With thoughts that don't belong
To me
And I can swim inside your head
For hours till I'm fed
With all your insecurities
It takes me forever and a night
To get back in my own fight
Chorus:
Sometimes, I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be me
There's some kind of lie, that I just can't see
And sometimes, I don't wanna be me
I am suddenly aware
Of what you're doing here
And why I hate myself today
It burns a hole through everything
A word can leave a stain
That doesn't always wash away
It takes me places I don't wanna go
It's not the me that I know
Chorus:
Sometimes, I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be me
There's some kind of lie, that I just don't believe
And sometimes, I don't wanna be me
Oh, it takes me places I don't wanna go
It's not what I know
Chorus:
Sometimes, I don't wanna be, I don't wanna be me
There's some kind of lie, that I just can't see
And sometimes, I don't wanna be me
Oh, sometimes I get in my way with the little things you say
It makes me believe that I'm not ok
