Pope Francis has donated half a million dollars in aid for migrants apprehended along the U.S. - Mexico border.The funds will be distributed among 27 projects promoted by sixteen Mexican dioceses and religious congregations, which requested assistance in continuing to provide food, lodging, and basic necessities to the migrants.Vatican News claimed the aid would specifically help more than 75,000 people who arrived in Mexico in 2018 as part of six migrant caravans.The funding comes as more than a thousand migrants broke out of a detention center in southern Mexico on Thursday evening, authorities said, in a fresh sign of how a surge in arrivals has stretched the country's resources to the limit.Peter's Pences provided the funding, which allows the Pontiff with the financial means to help those who are suffering as a result of war, oppression, natural disaster, and disease.

Loyal dog stays by body of his master for two day until it is found

Police said a hiker who died may never have been found if it wasn't for his loyal dog who alerted rescuers to the location of his body. The 64-year-old man had gone hiking with the couple’s dog, Daisy, on Wednesday in Eatonville, Washington and hadn’t returned home by dark.The dog stayed by the body of his owner, who has not been named, overnight from Wednesday until he was found on Thursday evening.The man’s wife called 911 early Thursday to report him missing and search and rescue teams were dispatched to the area immediately.The missing man reportedly often went hiking with his dog, but did not leave a note to say where he was going.Detectives were able to ping the missing man's phone which indicated that it was last used in the Alder Lake area. Pierce County Sheriff's office said its Mountain Detachment deputies and air Operations Unit searched the main roads and logging roads surrounding the lake.

California killer accused of torturing and beheading his cellmate in prison

A tattoo-faced killer has been charged with murdering his prison cellmate in what authorities are calling an exceptionally sadistic slaying. Jaime Osuna, 31, allegedly tortured and beheaded Luis Romero, 44, inside California's Corcoran State Prison, northeast of Santa Barbara, on March 9.  Romero is reported to have bled to death from the attack, which was conducted with 'a sharp metal object wrapped in string and attached to a handle'.

Terrifying video posted to Instagram on Thursday shows a Toronto man putting his life on the line to rescue his cat stranded on a neighbor's balcony. A golden retriever (main) has impressed onlookers by standing up and walking up a row of steps. Footage, believed to be in China, shows the dog at the bottom of the stairs eagerly wagging its tail before getting up on its hind legs. The dog quickly makes each step keeping its front paws up, likely to help keep balance as the owner waits at the top of the stairs.
