More weapons and break-in instruments seized off of 2 chronic property offenders. Another replica gun found in their 'toolkit'. Far too often, we're seeing these pulled on victims when they confront offenders.

We're so lucky to have amazing partners in public safety. Just saw walking with a woman they were treating and her dog.

Responded to an assault on a building resident last night. Man kicked, punched, bit one of our officers and reached for 1 of 2 knives he was carrying before he was taken into custody. DYK assaults against officers are up 20%.

Just a sampling of some of the weapons seized over the past 30 days, from only one team of officers in the . Many of these same weapons would have been later used in violent crimes. It's a significant safety concern for all of us.

Here is some information about the VPD’s response to the preacher at English Bay on Monday evening. The greatly values its relationship with Vancouver’s LGBTQ2S+ community. We support you and will continue to work to strengthen our relationships.

Nice work by a couple of sharp eyed officers last night. Stolen car drove by them, the driver abruptly turned a corner, parked and exited. The officers set up and waited, almost an hour and a half later the suspects returned and were nabbed.

A weekend response to a call for help from health professionals ended up with an injured officer requiring 5 staples. The suspect swung his skateboard striking our officer in the head.

Four pepper spray incidents today so far. We're averaging about 6 calls a day this year; they're often used as weapons during assaults or robberies.

Congrats Sgt. Cairns, well deserved retirement, seen lots in his almost 40 years of policing. Between the two sergeants there's over 70 years of combined time with the VPD. TY both for your public service.

Another call in the from a citizen regarding a man with a gun, it was a replica. This ties up resources because we have to treat it like it's real, no different than we would a bomb threat, a fire or a heart attack.

More weapons taken off the street today. Nice work by our beat officers in the DTES and thanks to the citizen who called it in after seeing a man putting a gun into a holster.

Homemade mace seized off of a man in the Olympic Village. Not sure why anyone needs a weapon like this. Glad to get this one off the road.
