Melania Trump put reports of a 'public argument' with her husband firmly behind her on Wednesday morning, when she stood by the president's side as he addressed media outside the White House in a public show of support for him.

The 48-year-old looked incredibly chic in a $2,300 white-and-black polka dot dress by Alessandra Rich as she joined her husband during the brief press conference, before the pair boarded Marine One together on their way to Atlanta for a drug abuse summit.

Once there, President Trump continued to put to bed any rumors of a falling out between the married couple, praising his wife's 'hard work' during a speech at the Rx Drug Abuse & Heroin Summit.

'I want to thank you all and especially Melania,' he said.

'She’s works so hard and those moving words [she said about me]... Even if it is from your wife, so maybe she’s a little bit prejudiced that way, but I will say that she is a hard worker and she has profound commitment to building a drug-free future for America’s children. We’re going to do it too.'

The couple's display of solidarity comes just two days after it was reported that they had a had a public argument during dinner at Mar-a-Lago almost a month ago.

The disagreement - and it's unclear what they argued about - happened in the club's dining area on March 30.

'Melania was upset and they had words with each other over something,' a witness told People.com

Melania Trump's communications director Stephanie Grisham told DailyMail.com the story is 'ridiculous' and 'false.'

'The story is ridiculous and it's false. And as usual, I challenge the person to have the courage to put their name to it. Stories based solely upon anonymous sources and hearsay have got to stop,' she said.

President Trump spent much of that Saturday at his Trump International Golf Club and then attended a fundraiser for Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee of Trump's 2020 re-election effort and the Republican National Committee, that evening at Mar-a-Lago.

The president left his Mar-a-Lago club at 9:28 a.m., according to the pool of reporters traveling with him, and returned at 3:55 p.m.

His event with supporters that evening was closed to the press.

'This evening, the President will participate in a fundraiser at Mar-A-Lago for Trump Victory, a joint fundraising committee authorized by and composed of Donald J. Trump for President, Inc. and the Republican National Committee,' was all the White House said of his plans for the evening of March 30.

The president and first lady had a long weekend together at the Southern White House, as Mar-a-Lago is known.

Trump arrived on Thursday evening and worked out of there on Friday, announcing Linda McMahon was leaving her post as head of the Small Business Administration.

Melania Trump had spent that week there with their son Barron during his Spring break.

On Thursday, March 28, she visited West Gate Elementary School and later that day met with Fabiana Rosales de Guaido, the wife of Venezuelan opposition leader and U.S.-recognized acting president Juan Guaido.

Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner dined at Mar-a-Lago that Saturday evening at a separate table, People.com reported.

President Trump and Melania Trump have faced questions on their marriage and the status of it since entering the White House. It's often noted when they hold hands and when they don't.

'I know people like to speculate and media like to speculate about our marriage,' Melania Trump told ABC News in October in an interview during her trip to Africa.

Asked if she's been hurt by the allegations, the first lady replied: 'It's not always pleasant, of course, but I know what is right and what is wrong and what is true or not true.'

And when asked if she has a good marriage and loves her husband, she said: 'Yes, we are fine.'

'It's what media speculate, and it's gossip. It's not always correct stuff,' she noted.

The first couple often travels to Mar-a-Lago on weekends with their son Barron. Other Trump family members sometimes join them.
