Rugby league star Valentine Holmes has married his high school sweetheart Natalia O'Toole in an intimate ceremony. The former Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks player and the personal trainer tied the knot in the Dalgety Apartments penthouse in Townsville on Easter Sunday surrounded by friends and family. The swanky apartment, which has been hailed as the 'perfect escape' for visitors, is owned by Holmes' long-term partner's lawyer father.

Queen Elizabeth II is the second-oldest currently serving state leader by age. She was joined for the Easter Mattins Service by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry, as well as Zara and Mike Tindall (pictured left). Kate, pictured right with William, looked stunning in a lilac coat dress by one of her favourite designers, Alexander McQueen.

Billionaire pub baron Justin Hemmes has purchased yet another iconic Sydney pub. The 45-year-old recently offered a cool $5 million to secure the iconic 3 Weeds pub in Rozelle. The venue, which first opened in 1881, is renowned for its 'pub grub' and pizzas.  Hemmes, who has remained tight lipped on the deal, is the chief executive of his family's hospitality firm Merivale, which owns a several pubs and hotels in Sydney - including The Ivy, Coogee Pavilion and The Newport Arms.

A manager at the Cinnamon Grand hotel in Colombo said the attacker had set off the horrific explosion in a packed restaurant at 8.30am. The bomber had checked in under a false address, claiming he was in the city on business, before unleashing terror on one of the hotel's busiest days of the year. At least 207 people have died in the eight Easter Sunday blasts, including Brits, Americans and Dutch nationals. The bombings targeted hotels such as the Cinnamon Grand which are popular with foreign visitors, as well as St Anthony's Shrine in Colombo, also frequented by tourists.

The Butchulla Aboriginal Corporation has urged tourists to be 'more accountable' for their actions just days after a young boy was mauled by a dingo on a popular holiday island. But the group's stern words appear to have been ignored by defiant visitors who continue to pose with the native animal despite the potentially fatal risks.  Audacious holidaymakers have shared snaps of the canines online in the days since a dingo dragged a 14-month-old baby out of a camper van by his head while his family spent time on Queensland's Fraser Island (pictured). 

The mother-of-two who was found dead only metres from her sleeping children has been remembered as a loving and kind woman. Syeda Nirupama Hossain's body was found by a concerned friend at about 4am on Sunday morning in the garage of her home in Minto, south-west Sydney. She had been stabbed to death. Her husband, Altaf Hossain was taken into police custody at the scene and has been since charged with her murder. Mrs Hossain's distraught family were tasked with relaying the message of her death to her parents, who still live in Bangladesh.

Chris Dodd, 29, from Poole, found the device in the gutter outside the airport in Chiang Mai and said he had intended to hand it in after he got to his hostel. But the tattoo artist was charged with theft and faced up to to five years in prison after CCTV showed him moving to a different location with the possession. The act of moving a belonging which you don't own to a different location is considered theft under Thai law. During his time in prison guards shaved off his dreadlocks.

Ewan McGregor's daughters Esther McGregor, 17, and older sister Clara McGregor (left and right), 23, took to Instagram to reveal they were bisexual after locking horns with the founder of Coachella for his alleged anti-LGBT beliefs. During her post Esther McGregor took fire at the billionaire owner of Coachella Philip Anschutz, 79, by stating she would not be attending the popular music festival in California.

Legal experts say Felicity Huffman's remorseful handling of the bombshell bribery scandal could keep the 56-year-old out of jail when she is sentenced on May 24 in Boston federal court. The actress announced that she would plead guilty to charges of mail fraud earlier this month after being accused of paying $15,000 to alter her daughter Sophia's SAT scores in December 2017. Huffman (left on April 3 and right with Sophia in January) told the court: 'I am in full acceptance of my guilt, and with deep regret and shame over what I have done, I accept full responsibility for my actions and will accept the consequences that stem from those actions.' Meanwhile, fellow actress Lori Loughlin is facing up to 40 years in prison after pleading not guilty to charges brought in the scandal. The Full House star (inset on April 3) is accused of paying $500,000 to get her daughters into USC.

Just days after Sydney Swans star Kieren Jack (top, with wife Charlotte Goodlet) came clean about the bitter rift with his parents, his father Garry Jack (bottom right) has spoken out. Since his parents' notable absence at his 200th game back in 2016, yesterday's 250th milestone only spurred on further speculation about the family's ongoing feud. Kieran's father Garry confirmed he and his wife Donna (bottom left) were not invited to their AFL star son's landmark game.

Lady Glenconner, 86, (inset) grew up with the Queen and sister Princess Margaret (left), and was the latter's lady-in-waiting until her death in 2002. She revealed that the royal was not afraid to 'muck in', and said that she loved performing mundane household tasks like cleaning the car. The former lady-in-waiting also said she'd advised Helena Bonham Carter (right) to help her accurately portray the princess in the next series of the hit Netflix series The Crown.

Former England footballer Darren Bent (right) reportedly arrived at the eight-bedroom £2million home in Sutton Coldfield, West Midlands, he used to share with his estranged wife to find another man's car parked in the driveway. He was told the man was upstairs with model Kirsty Maclaren (right with the forward in Barbados), so he drove around the corner to give him time to leave. When the 35-year-old returned he and Ms Maclaren argued and the ex-England striker's designer suit was ripped. Police were also called in February when Ms Maclaren confronted her love rival Paige Harrison (left). Pictured inset is an Instagram post Ms Maclaren made of her engagement ring in 2015.

CCTV footage from Sydney's Central Station shows the alleged attacker sneak up behind Constable Hayden Edwards holding the 30cm hunting knife and suddenly stab him in the back as he walked past. The man then took a few more steps before turning to face the officer in a combat stance as if expecting retaliation. Instead, Constable Edwards crumpled to the ground as more police converged on the scene with their guns drawn. Constable Edwards managed to get back to his knees and draw his pistol, aiming it at the assailant who was waiving his knife around. The attack triggered a long standoff with police before the man jumped on to the train tracks and he was eventually tasered and arrested.

Kurt Jefferis won an MTV contest for the ultimate weekend with the rock band. He and a friend were flown to Detroit and greeted with Jack Daniels and a joint. The band showered him with champagne and caked him on stage during their show. Backstage they gave him lobster, cocaine, and his own groupie named Tammy.

Shirah Booker (right) spotted the porch pirate rifling through her mail on April 18. Home surveillance video captured the moment the female suspect (left) was taken by surprise by Booker, who caught the thief on her property at the 3200 block of Main Avenue, Long Beach. The video was uploaded to Facebook on Sunday. She is seen going through a package when Booker opens the door and grabs it out of her hand.Booker tells her: 'What are you doing, don't you ever come back to my home, now get gone.'

In an incident report Broward County sheriff's deputy Christopher Krickovich (pictured inset) wrote that he was in fear for his safety when he noticed the child's hand was closed after he went to retrieve a device from the ground during the crowded 3pm incident outside McDonald's (pictured). Basketball star James - who played for Miami Heat from 2010-2014 - tweeted (pictured right) alongside a face-palm and crying emoji: 'So wrong!! Hurts me to my soul!! To think that could be my sons. Scary times man.'

Easter revellers in Birmingham, West Midlands celebrated the warmest day of the year yesterday by hitting the town. Temperatures soared to more than 70F yesterday - giving revellers in the city a perfect reason to celebrate the four-day bank-holiday weekend. Glammed-up men and women were seen letting their hair down on the streets of Broad Street, Birmingham's renowned part street, which is bursting with clubs and bars. Shocking footage has captured the moment a policewoman punched a teenage girl in the head at a pro-marijuana rally in Melbourne. Witnesses said the girl, 15, was pulled to the ground by police officers at about 2.30pm during Saturday's 420 Rally held in Melbourne's Flagstaff Gardens. The teen is said to have spat in the policewoman's face, prompting the officer to punch her in the side of the head, according to The Age.

A young woman who was caught on camera straddling a water bubbler in a family-friendly park has outraged social media users.  Footage, which was posted online on Good Friday, shows a brunette woman hoist her skirt up before throwing her leg over the silver bubbler located in the middle of Cairns' CBD.  The woman and her friend appear to find the act funny and can be seen laughing.

Thomas Mundy, 58, (left) of Long Beach, New York is the man seen nailing the president's (right) speaking voice, mannerisms, and speech patterns in a viral clip that's been seen more than 3.1 million times on social media in about a week. The married, former comedian and local AM radio host who now works as an union iron worker for local union 66 in Long Island, told the Daily Mail he didn't record his first impersonation of Trump until Trump announced he was running for president in 2015.
