JoAnn Cunningham and Andrew Freund Sr have both been charged in the death and disappearance of their five-year-old son AJ, authorities announced at a press conference on Wednesday. The boy’s body was discovered in a rural field in Woodstock, Illinois, six days after the parents reported that he’d vanished from their home in Crystal Lake on the night of April 17. Earlier in the day investigators were seen carrying items including a dirt-caked shovel, two brown bags, a plastic storage bin and a small mattress out of the house.

A woman in south-west China was left with a head injury after a goose escaping a rooftop pen jumped off the building and landed on her. The woman was riding an electric scooter along a road in Qiannan, Guizhou province when the goose tumbled on her, causing her to fall off her bike and hit her head on a parked car. She was immediately rushed to hospital and is currently in stable condition, according to Chinese reports.
