TALK OF THE TOWN: Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones get soppy as their daughter celebrates her 16th birthday

She may be looking sweet at 16, but receiving not one but TWO Instagram birthday messages from her parents might be a little cringe-making for a teenager like Carys Douglas.

First, her Oscar-winning dad Michael, 74, posted a picture marking Carys’s special day no doubt to the delight of his 119,000 followers yesterday.

But just to rub in the social media message, her mum, Catherine Zeta-Jones, 49, put an entire video compilation of her favourite Carys childhood moments online, writing: ‘16 years ago today, on an Easter Sunday, my little chick was hatched. It has been 5,843.88 days of joy. Happy 16th Birthday to my extraordinary daughter Carys Zeta.’ Yikes!

Jilly, 82, tells me: ‘Harry is going to give me an insight into the world of football.’

But it’s not the intricacies of the offside rule that interest her. ‘I am fascinated by footballers and their hair. I love Cristiano Ronaldo,’ say Jilly.
