This amazing seven-bedroom, seven-bathroom home, designed by Christos Vlachos Architects and completed last year, is now for sale.
The asking price? About a cool $8.65 million (or €5.5 million).
According to reports, the home was built into a cliff overlooking the Aegean Sea to overcome strict planning rules that limit property sizes built at ground level on Milos.
It was also reported about 4500 tonnes of earth were removed before construction began. Being built into the earth means the house is bioclimatic – able to keep a constant, cooler temperature.
Now listed with Sotheby’s International Realty Greece, the 1100-square-metre home, known as Gaia, features a separate living room and dining room and an open kitchen with panoramic views of the ocean in the direction of other nearby islands, including Crete.
In the living areas, the house has 10-metre-wide window openings to take in the view. Most of the villa’s bedrooms also have ocean views, but all have an en suite. Views of the sky can also be seen through rooftop windows in the luxury villa.

Milos is known as the island of colours because of its colourful rock formations and jewel-like ocean.
It is also known as the island where the statue of the Venus de Milo was discovered by archeologists in the 1820s.
