Superstar DJ Avicii, real name Tim Bergling, took his own life in Muscat, Oman, last year at the age of 28. He was one of the biggest names in dance music, playing to sold out venues around the world (inset left and right). But he retired from touring in 2016 after battling anxiety, opioid addiction and acute pancreatitis, which lead to him having his gallbladder and appendix removed in 2014 (pictured). Details of the gruelling tour schedule that lead the shy performer to turn to drink before going on stage have been laid bare in a new documentary, Avicii: True Stories to be released on BBC Three tomorrow. After developing problems with alcohol abuse to overcome his crippling anxiety, Avicii ended up in hospital while on tour in Australia. He was prescribed a cocktail of medications including the addictive opioid Percocet and went back on tour despite his drug addiction and mental health problems. The DJ was found dead two years after his retirement.

Robert Mueller's report is in, and while there is no concrete evidence that President Trump colluded with Russia during his presidential campaign, there is no shortage of shocking revelations. Chief ethics officer April Perry and veteran prosecutor Mark Rotert, bottom right, are both set to leave. Perry wrote the memo to Foxx's office announcing the State's Attorney had recused herself. The case was then handed to deputy Joe Magats before charges were dropped. Perry will start work for a tech start-up while Rotert is retiring. Foxx, main, thanked them for their work for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office. Actor Smollett, top right, was accused of staging an attack on himself on January 29. He has always maintained his innocence and insisted he was attacked.

Renowned U.S. mountain climber Jess Roskelley (right) is one of three men presumed dead after an avalanche in Canada's Banff National Park on Wednesday.  The 36-year-old was attempting to climb the east face of Howse Peak on the Icefield Parkway with Austrians David Lama, 28, (top left) and Hansjorg Auer, 35, (bottom left) when the mass of snow hit.  The trio failed to return from their expedition that evening and Canadian officials are now saying that they are assuming the worst. 

A woman who claims she had a 13-year affair with Herman Cain has offered to describe his body parts to Congress if he doesn't withdraw his name from consideration for the Federal Reserve Board. Ginger White, who first revealed the alleged affair in 2011, has spoken out after President Trump said he wanted to nominate the conservative political ally and former presidential candidate for a seat on the seven-member board.   White said on Thursday that she was willing to prove that the affair occurred by giving descriptions, under oath, of Cain's normally hidden body parts. Cain, who has been married for 50 years, has denied having an affair with White.

Police in North Carolina are investigating a potential kidnapping, after eyewitnesses say they saw a man force his girlfriend into the back of a car against her will. Wilkes County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic dispute outside of a home at 233 Graymille Street in Hays, on Thursday morning. Upon their arrival, officers say witnesses told them that a man - later identified to be Rosalino Duarte-Cruz (right), 37 - abducted 20-year-old Lauren Hall (left) from the front-yard of her home.

Dozens of pages in Robert Mueller's report had redactions, including a section dealing with Wikileaks and Roger Stone plus there were blackouts around Paul Manafort's Ukraine work. One of the most heavily redacted section of the 448-page report was about Russia's effort to sow seeds of discord in the 2016 presidential election. The four categories for redaction are grand jury evidence, classified material, information about on-going investigations, and details that could 'unduly infringe on the personal privacy and reputational interests of peripheral third parties.'

George Conway has renewed his attack on Donald Trump, describing him as 'a cancer on the presidency' following the release of the redacted Mueller report. In an op-ed for The Washington Post on Thursday, the husband of Kellyanne Conway urged Congress to remove the Commander-in-chief from office after the report claimed he tried to limit the scope of the investigation into foreign meddling in the 2016 election.  Conway accuses Trump of 'putting personal interests above a presidential duty to the nation' by trying to hinder the two-year probe. 

Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer have slammed Attorney General William Barr, accusing him of 'deliberately distorting' the Mueller Report which they say 'paints a disturbing picture of a president who has been weaving a web of deceit, lies'. The pair issued a joint, blistering statement Thursday evening in response to the release of the 448-page report, outlining 'at least four significant ways that Mr. Barr has misled the public on the contents of the Mueller report'. Posting their response to the report's release Pelosi tweeted: 'We’ve learned today that AG Barr deliberately distorted significant portions of the #MuellerReport. 'The #MuellerReport paints a disturbing picture of a president who has been weaving a web of deceit, lies and improper behavior and acting as if the law doesn’t apply to him.' ADVERTISING The statement adds: 'But if you hadn’t read the report and listened only to Mr. Barr, you wouldn’t have known any of that because Mr. Barr has been so misleading.' 

The Mueller report's focus is on how Russia tried to interfere in the 2016 election and then penetrate the White House to advance its motives. One of the many ways its operatives attempted this was by trying to gain access to the Trump campaign and then his team through a relentless campaign of making contact with people they believed they could compromise. Their targets included (top left to right) Ivanka Trump, Paul Manafort, Michael Flynn, Donald Trump Jr, Hope Hicks and Jared Kushner.

Louise Linton, the wife of Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin, has shared a steamy new still from her upcoming independent movie about a thief and a serial killer. Linton shared two new pictures to her Instagram page, featuring her on-screen girlfriend Shuya Chang, showing the pair in locked in a series of racy embraces. ‘So lucky to have this beautiful actress in our film,’ Louise said in the pictures’ caption. ‘We love you @shuya_chang. So much fun making this movie with you.’

The shocking 911 call made by one of the California house of horrors children that led to 13 siblings being rescued has emerged just one day before the parents are due to be sentenced.  David Turpin, 57, and his wife Louise, 50, will be sentenced to at least 25 years in prison on Friday after pleading guilty to abusing and imprisoning their children in their home.  They were arrested in January 2018 after their 17-year-old daughter Jordan managed to escape from the home and call 911 to report that her parents were abusive and some of her siblings were chained to their beds. The chilling 911 call lasted for 20-minutes as the daughter told the dispatcher of the abuse and struggled to work out her address because she had not been outside alone before.

An Amber Alert has been issued for 15-year-old Alora Benitez (left) of California on Thursday, after she was last seen on Wednesday with her mother and a man who are both suspects in a murder. Her mother Maricela Mercado, 40, (right) and Roman Cerratos, 39, (inset) are suspects in the stabbing death of a man who was found dead in a car in the city of Carson early Tuesday morning. Both are considered armed and dangerous, according to police. Alora was last seen leaving with the suspects in a white 2013 four-door BMW around 9am on Wednesday in Torrance. Alora is described as 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighing about 100 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Department of Energy and Environmental Protection officers said they were called to the Mohegan Sun Golf Course in Sprague, Connecticut (left) after a bobcat attacked the unidentified golfer, said to be in his 60s, around 8.30am. The feral feline jumped on the golfer's back while he and his friends were using the course. The victim's colleagues eventually beat the bobcat off of him with their golf clubs.

Shira Goldschmidt, eight months (left and right), from Israel, became infected with measles in December 2018. She was too young to be vaccinated because doctors don't administer the shot until patients are at least one year old. Her parents rushed her to the ER after she couldn't eat or drink and she had to be hospitalized and given IV fluids. Shira's mother, Fainy Sukenik, slammed anti-vaxxers in a Facebook post and suggested they stay in isolation or carry signs saying they're anti-vaxxers. In the US, there have been 555 confirmed cases of measles in 20 states, the second highest since it was considered 'eradicated' in 2000.

TSA workers discovered the weapon hidden inside a DVD player in the suitcase when it passed through metal detectors and set them off at JFK International Airport in NYC on Saturday. The firearm wasn't loaded. TSA spokesperson Lisa Farbstein mocked the accused suspect on Twitter. 'Want to travel with a gun,' she tweeted. 'I can assure you that wrapping it in aluminum foil and then concealing it inside a DVD player isn't the way to go about it... C'mon man!'

Houston teen, Antonio Armstrong, Jr (left), who is standing trial in the slayings of his parents, Dawn and Antonio Sr (top right, with their son), was in hot water with them in the months leading up to the killings and repeatedly being disciplined over grades and dishonesty, according to text messages revealed in court Wednesday. Text exchanges between Armstrong, Jr, his mother and his father showed a teen who was frequently explaining his actions when he was caught bending the truth. His parents weren't shy in expressing their disappointment. 'He is a bold face liar like I have never seen before,' Dawn Armstrong said in a text to her son and husband, after she found out he was untruthful about being at basketball practice. Dawn Armstrong and her husband, Antonio Armstrong, Sr, were found shot to death in their beds on July 29, 2016. Their son, who also goes by AJ, was charged with capital murder. He was 16 at the time and was certified to be tried as an adult.

Virginia wedding photographer Bonnie Turner took to Facebook on Thursday, March 28, to reveal the touching story behind the stunning photographs that show Becky Carey dancing with her late father Tim. The Culpeper-based photographer said she got to know Becky when she booked a shoot for herself and her fiance, Matt, last spring. However, she received an email from the bride-to-be in September, 2018, asking if she could use the engagement shoot deposit for a different photo shoot. Becky revealed in her email to the photographer that her father was terminally ill with prostate cancer, and that she wanted to stage a photo shoot with him, instead of getting engagement photos with her fiance, in case he couldn't make it to her wedding day. The stunning images show Becky and her father Tim sharing a first dance together in the garden of the family house in Woodbridge, Virginia. Becky's father Tim passed away on March 29, 2019.

Abdool Zaman (left), 39, was originally charged with second degree murder for the holiday-season shooting death of his daughter, Vanessa Zaman (top right), and his niece Leona Samlall (bottom right), both 18 in Highland Springs, Virginia. Authorities determined seeking the death penalty was appropriate because Abdool allegedly killed multiple persons as a part of the same criminal act.

A clip from home security camera captures the victim screaming: 'He's trying to kill me. Help!' as she's chased. One of her teenage daughters, Evelyn described the incident as 'something out of a horror movie'. She was in the bathroom and her sister was in her bedroom when she heard glass fall.

Gigi, 23, and Bella, 22, were teenagers when they appeared alongside their mom, Yolanda Hadid (formerly Foster), on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Bravo shared a mashup of the sisters' scenes on series earlier this month, and Gigi's blossoming modeling career is the focus of many of the clips. The bizarre email (right), which was written by a woman who was invited to the bachelorette party out of 'pity', was shared on Reddit on Wednesday, April 17. The email listed a number of rules including no hard liquor, no drugs, no pre-marital sex and a requirement of $50 from each of the 17 guests in order to buy groceries for the hotel room. The unnamed woman who sent the email also arranged for the group to attend a church service at 7:15am on a Sunday morning during the trip in order to 'cleanse' their sins.

Rapper Kodak Black has posted a $20,000 cash bond and been released from an upstate New York jail following his arrest for weapons and drug possession at the United States- Canada border on Wednesday. The 21-year-old, whose legal name is Bill Kapri, was filmed leaving Niagara County Jail on Thursday afternoon hiding his face behind a fan of $100 bills. He was escorted to a grey minivan as several fans tried to stop him to take selfies. 

Teresa Giudice looked distressed as she was snapped in her native New Jersey on Thursday amid news her husband Joe Giudice's deportation appeal was denied by immigration officials. The Real Housewives of New Jersey beauty, 46, had her brown locks up as she donned a black coat with white athletic leggings and black sneakers on a trip to a local salon, where she had her eyelashes touched up. Teresa, who shares four daughters with Joe - Gia, 18, Gabriella, 14, Milania, 13, and Audriana, nine - was on a call as she made her way to her Range Rover to leave.

Jordyn Freeman, 24, and Randy McMillin, 27, were taken into custody by Panama City police after they were found in the front seat of their van, with two nine-month-old's in the backseat covered up by pillows and blankets. IHOP employees arriving to work at around 5.30am in the morning found the frightened toddler walking around alone and wrapped him in an apron, police said. The two nine-month-old children were also found near to Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The children's mother, Freeman, and McMillin, her fiancé, are both from Ohio and have been charged with Child Neglect, Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

A photo going viral on Twitter and Facebook gives reference points for cervical dilation during childbirth. It features a wooden board with ten circles cut out of it, each a centimeter wider than the next. The biggest circle in 10 cm. Doctors and nurses will have a woman start pushing during labor when her cervix measures 10 cm. across The cervix is at the top of the vagina, several inches, and separates the vagina from the uterus.

Kate Smith's rendition of 'God Bless America' is no longer being played during the seventh-inning stretch at New York Yankees home games after the club learned of her history of singing racist songs. According to the New York Daily News, the team dropped the song after becoming aware of the late Smith's racially insensitive songs, with names like 'Pickaninny Heaven' and 'That's Why Darkies Were Born.' The Yankees have been using different versions of 'God Bless America' in place of Smith's recording, and will continue to do so. The team had been using Smith's 1939 'God Bless America' recording over the last 18 seasons, following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. According to the Daily News, Smith (pictured left with Babe Ruth) said she directed 'Pickaninny Heaven' at 'colored children,' and she included a line about a place with 'great big watermelons.' A film for that song took place in a black orphanage. In her song, 'That's Why Darkies Were Born,' Smith included the lyrics, 'Someone had to pick the cotton. … That's why darkies were born.' Smith died in 1986 - well after she endorsed the 'Mammy Doll,' which has been criticized as a racist caricature of a black woman. She was immortalized with her own statue outside the old Philadelphia Flyers' home arena, the Spectrum, where her song was used as a good luck charm in the 70s and 80s.

His rugged looks have helped earn him roles in Game of Thrones and the DC Comics franchise, as well as the hearts of millions of fans across the globe. But Jason Momoa, 39, has left some of his loyal fanbase distraught by shaving off his long beard. The drastic act was for a good cause, with the actor sharing a video of himself shaving in the middle of a plastic-filled desert to promote recycling.

The hilarious episode was spotted by visitors to Longleat Safari Park in Wiltshire, where a herd of Grant’s zebra share space with a group of Rothschild’s giraffes. In the end the giraffe, 15-month-old Rudy, beat zebra Iebe by a neck. Keeper Ian Turner said: ‘It was quite a sight to see them galloping across the reserve. As a stallion, Iebe is looking to show off his speed. However, it looks like he met his match with this young giraffe.’

It’s not often that a parent can eat without having to share their culinary delights with their children. But one mother is determined to enjoy her snacks alone - despite her greedy nine-month-old son’s persistence. Footage, captured in Huangshi City in Hubei Province, China, shows the hilarious moment the parent pretends to watch TV to avoid being caught eating an apple by her youngster.

NASA has released new, breathtaking images of the Southern Crab Nebula in honor of the Hubble Space Telescope's upcoming 29th anniversary. The Southern Crab Nebula, named after its resemblance to its northern counterpart the Crab Nebula, is distinctive due to its 'peculiar' hourglass-shaped structure, according to the European Space Agency (ESA).
