Here is a link to a story about Katie Bouman's contribution to making the first image of a black hole possible. It's really worth the read to see her unique methodology and how she as a computer scientist influenced the team's work:http://time.com/5568063/katie-bouman-first-image-black-hole/?utm_campaign=time&utm_source=twitter.com&utm_medium=socialflowtw&xid=time_socialflow_twitter …

Meet Katie Bouman She wrote the Algorithm which produced the first-ever image of a black hole. The Algorithm stitches together a network of eight linked telescopes.Together, they form the Event Horizon Telescope and can be thought of as a planet-sized array of dishes.

It's great work by 200 people using 8 telescopes, surely? If this is the person who stitched all the data together, then fabulous work, but she didn't pop out there with her Kodak :)
