The Poll Tax and How to Fight It was the first of two pamphlets we wrote on the Poll Tax, published around October 1988. It encouraged the rise of mass revolt against the Community Charge as it was happening in Scotland, and as it was poised to be fought and beaten a year later in England and Wales as well.
Beating the Poll Tax is a relevant ‘blast from the past’, a widely distributed booklet that encouraged and analysed the rise of mass revolt against the Community Charge in 1989/90 as it was happening. First published by the Anarchist Communist Federation in March 1990 under the Tories, then published online March 2006 by the Anarchist Federation and dedicated to New Labour and the Left, “Our past experience should teach us to expect nothing else of them.”
Written in 1953 by George Fontenis, Manifesto of Libertarian Communism is one of the key texts of the anarchist communist current, translated from French manifeste du communisme libertaire. Although flawed, the best features need to be incorporated into modern revolutionary theory and practice.
