Lori McLeese, Head of Human Resources, on working at Automattic

Hi, my name is Lori McLeese. I'm the head of HR at Automattic And I live in Asheville, North Carolina One morning I was having breakfast with Matt Mullenweg and he was telling me about the HR position at Automattic. and he said that he wanted to hire someone to focus on making Automattic the best place that Automatticians had ever worked. And I thought, "Woah! This is my dream job." And I was so excited when I was invited to join the company shortly thereafter. The skills that make a great HR Wrangler are compassion, the ability to listen, having an open mind and being able to see multiple sides of the story and a sense of humor doesn't hurt, either. The best part of my job is working with the almost 700 individual Automatticians that we have working for us all around the globe. I've never met a more kinder, smarter, intelligent, innovative group of people and I just feel so lucky to work with them every single day
