End Homelessness Now – LA Campaign General Meeting

May 18, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm UTC+0

Over 50,000 people are homeless in Los Angeles County.  They are disproportionately Black and Latino, and the fastest growing age group is over 62 years old.

End Homelessness now is a grassroots campaign to pressure city and county governments to deploy their unused and underused land and buildings to build, own, and run permanent supportive housing, shelters, and safe parking areas for people living in cars and trailers.

The campaign was sparked by the City Council’s recent refusal to renovate the empty former police headquarters (Parker Center) into a facility that could house and provide services for 732 homeless people.  Instead, they decided to tear it down and spend close to $1 billion on a 29-story building for city offices.

Meetings every first and third Saturday of the month.
