    I love this, but I especially love it because I think it's something a lot of us go through -- that decision to be like "Actually no, you *are* going to pronounce my name correctly." (I waited till I was 14 which uh meant I was uncomfortable saying my own name for years?)

    What inspires me so much about this image is that, as a tall girl, I always try to be ~small. I already tower over everyone, so ... but Gwendoline's whole look and vibe here is just HUGELY ethereal, stunning, beautiful ... I aspire to that confidence

    It's so cool to see so many of creators & stories I admire (not to mention some of the people I was lucky enough to talk to for my job in 2018) on this list. There are some serious badasses as finalists... and I'm not just talking about The Incomparable Janelle Monae.

    Congratulations to all of the 2019 finalists! So many of the speculative fiction stories we loved across 📺, 📚, and 🎞️ in 2018 made it onto the list.
