Please, please share this piece widely. It has the potential to reach deep into the mainstream and raise public urgency on climate breakdown. It is already "most shared" across the Guardian. Push this moment

The appalling destruction of our marine life continues unabated. While there are many projects on land that offer some hope for nature, there is nothing happening at sea to suggest we have any intention of protecting it.

Oh look another expert report being tampered with - nothing to see here, go on about your business as we erase all record of how bad things are and how rubbish we are for lying

“On the brink of collapse”. Just how much more clearly does the UN have to spell out the depth of the multiple existential crises that now confront us?

So after Eirgrid told Big Data new Dublin Data centres were banned last week due to the obscene strain on the isolated Irish electrical grid, personally intervened so they would 'walk it back' and are now 'assessing on a case-by-case basis'

"Putting in place these [gas] plants would be a short-term fix due to a technology gap on the all-island grid system". Its for data centre expansion not a "technology gap". Using more fossil fuels for a short-term fix is the opposite of taking proper climate action.

In midst of Climate Emergency, Ministers must vote to stop all petroleum licensing via policy change at Northern Ireland Executive. Protect communities from fracking. 🙏

European Chemical Industry Council says upstream / emissions is by far the largest contributor of emission across the supply chain of petrochemicals . regulation must cover supply chain & petrochemicals

Lovely to stand with wonderful campaigners like this today. We stand in solidarity with all communities on the island of Ireland and around the world faced with threat of the carbon heavy, energy intensive, mining industry.

An extra 2 gigawatts of electricity generation from gas just to power Big Tech data centres will add enormously to Ireland's carbon footprint ...

Thanks to everyone who came along yesterday to learn more about the scale and significance of the proposed Shannon LNG project, and why it must be stopped.

Listening to speakers from local and national groups speak about the significance of stopping Shannon LNG for this island and further afield. New Fortress Energy would import gas fracked in Pennsylvania to a terminal in north Kerry on the Shannon estuary, plans for which include 4 data centres.

That is factually incorrect, every advanced economy is externalising their carbon footprint to the global south and the oireachtas committee has been told by cornell's that facked LNG is much worse than coal

Great to see so many groups travel from around the country to show solidarity with the local campaigners fighting against . Great also to hear Tony Lowes from speak at the site too, as without them Shannon LNG wouldn't have needed to reapply for planning.
