Salute to Israel (LP edition)

New York City in the 1960s gave birth to an exciting Israeli music scene that included the Feenjon and El Avram clubs. The clubs’ house bands included musicians fluent in Israeli, Arabic, Greek, Turkish, Moroccan, and Russian melody, rhythm, and song art. This recording brings together both the Feenjon Group and the El Avram Group and features special guests such as Margalit, one of Israel’s most prominent vocalists. The music is a reflection of the human experience in Israel—nostalgia, longing, insecurity, and triumph. Songs are in Hebrew andYiddish.
