Not sure anybody is saying China is perfect but over the last 50 years strong leadership has increased standards of living enormously. The economy is booming. This rate of advance would probably have not been possible unless under a dictatorship. A democratic system with infighting and conflicting ideas would have not have been agile enough to deliver that rate of growth. Of course, the flip side is that poor dictatorship can be catastrophic as well.

Western democracies have a lot of blood on their hands as well I am afraid. Sometimes directly, Vietnam, sometimes indirectly such as the UK's massive arms trade to human-rights abusing countries.

Back in the 2000s you needed a PC, nowadays who needs one, and very soon the smart phone will be smart enough to connect to all your house applicants in the West (coz they are already there in the East), Privacy? That's a dream idealist world. We trade off convenience for privacy in this modern world, and personal privacy becoming less valuable in the East, a trend. Real Privacy is going to be a privilege reserved for the rich and powerful.

I don't doubt this at all, Dxomark ratings have been often nonsense or contradictory in the past, this is another example why their ratings are nonsense. Dxomark's sample images that show the artifacts (see the artifacts section) speak for themselves. I nearly don't know any phones that produce such terrible artifacts. I am surprised that in 2019 some people still look at Dxomark mobile scores as it is widely known that such ratings are meaningless.

?? As I said I tried it with two P30 Pros and also with AI off. A scientific study would use probands who wouldn't try different settings (or multiple P30 Pros) as most consumers wouldn't do it...
When you want to test scientifically whether a phone camera produces artifacts in a store under normal circumstances, you can't do better than taking photos in a store. As I said, the artifacts were reproducible.
You can also visit Dxomark's review and download their full resolution sample images in the artifacts section.
The fact that I (and Dxomark) found severe artifacts (that are not usual at all) after such a short time of testing is reason enough to warn against buying it. For example I haven't seen such artifacts with different phone cameras that I used for multiple years!

lucky you. they installed with a launcher I used. Even after I uninstalled the launcher it still plagued the OS at random times. Usually after waking the phone up.

I am just saying how easy it is to get unwanted things on Android. I actually want to use it though so sit down brother. If I keep seeing a full screen ad of a monkey trying to find gems in the treetops suggesting I click to play it each time I wake up the Android phone and apparently I am seeing things then I better get my eyes checked. However considering the circumstances of how religious people get when defending a platform I don't think I need to bother with the checkup.

Well, do research before you install a new luncher. Had several different launchers, never had your problem.

It’s a typical Apple user response - slating Android. I think it’s a bigger issue having an OS controlled by a manufacturer. In Apples world you can’t be trusted with your own phone, so they implement measures to ‘protect you’. In the real world, this means ‘you can only do what we’ll let you do’. Sorry Apple, but when I buy a phone I want to be able to tailor the experience to suit me!

I have to say, switching from Apple to Samsung all those years ago was a breath of fresh air; and despite of all the scare stories and fake news, I’ve NEVER had an issue with crashing, viruses, slowness etc etc etc .... which is quite the opposite for the iOS on my iPad Pro 12.9" ... it’s a pile of junk that just hinders what is actually a great piece of hardware!

yeh I am a typical Apple user just because I said something that you didn't love about your precious platform. How about this, the only iOS product I own is a hand me down iPhone 5 from years ago. Couldn't care less about phones really but this one is showing its age with up to date apps. I don't have any Macs. PS. If anyone is insecure among the Apple vs Android soldiers then I can clearly see more Androiders getting angry in comments on youtube videos and forums than Apple people. It's probably a 5:1 ratio, just open your eyes and have a count for yourself. It is clear in this thread too when I just expressed an opinion of what my experience was and got shot down by several insecure Android fans including yourself. Android user for four days now. Haven't installed any launchers so no ads thank goodness. However I don't see the whole debate between iOS and Android. Both flagship phones are near the same price, both have more than good enough displays, both same size, both have decent apps, both work. Seems to me that it truly is a case of insecurity if you join the war. Take some advice from someone on no ones side, don't join, be happy instead.

Something I have learned in the past few days is, not to write an opinion on such a heated topic such as fan wars, especially online. Also having Android over iOS or vice versa doesn't make you a better photographer, as proven by Chadley's gallery, gotcha!.

The minimum focus distance is quite large, and the main camera has about the same aperture opening in mm (with much smaller minimum focus distance).

The minimum focus distance is large, but at 125mm you also need a large distance, so the large minimum focus distance isn't really a problem here.

zeratulmrye , an equivalent aperture of f/29 gives you much more background blur at 125mm than a wide-angle lens with f/29.

By the way, the main camera has a smaller aperture diameter: ≈3.5mm

It’s not f/30. Tele lens is f/3.4 in small sensor. You need to know sensor size or actual focal length of the tele lens to find equivalent F. If it uses 1/23” sensor, equivalent F will be f/19.4.
