    On Friday, some of President Trump's favorite shows were panicking about the impeding crisis of the "mother of all caravans," purportedly of 20,000 people from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala.

    A spokesperson for social services minister Paul Fletcher informs me dole recipients dont get the $75/$125 because “the one off payment is limited to those who don’t have the opportunity to work or earn additional income". Unemployment = optional. Got it?

    We are fans of paleo plants like the Arecaceae family, which includes the monkey puzzle tree and Wollemi pine. The Gonwana exhibit at Mt Tomah is a must see. Recent upgrades to the visitors' centre make access easier for visitors on wheels (I use a moby). Did I say it was free?

    Next stop was the always spectacular at Mt Tomah. Perfect autumn weather, bit brisk in the shade but bright sun and an incredible collection of plants from Australia and around the world. Long views across the Grose River Valley.

    2nd stop was the Bilpin Cider Cellar Door, where you can sample alcoholic & non-alcoholic ciders. These are sparkling ciders made from filtered apple juice, 7nlike apple cider found in the midwestern US. Still nice. We don't drink alcohol but we got a boozy sampler for friends.

    19th housemativersary trip to Bilpin, on the other side of the road route loop from where we live. Stop 1 was the Cottage Orchard Caffe [sic]. Nice views, but apple pies made onsite are ordinary & shop owner claps his hands to order staff around. Not recommended.
