  2. This is what happen in such cases; - You feed them like others - they get used to the taste - they start living near the roads - they forget wild traits, predators also follow them & both keep getting killed by vehicles. This is exactly happening in case of marmot in ladakh.

  4. This is a . Found in grasslands of Himalayas & Tibetan plateau, lives in burrows. Do you know what to do when you site such beautiful animals. Do not feed them at all. They don't need 'sympathy based conservation', they need space.

  5. This picture by Chris Jordan presents one of the biggest problem we have created for other ; including . So many are getting killed because of them on daily basis. I noticed today even upto 17000 feet in there is a trail of plastic waste !!

  6. Great to see how Snow conservation is also providing livelihood to so many in . Now there are homestays in every remote village, serious researchers are visiting places. From conflict to solution. Kudos to FD, local community & for the great work.

    She is doing tremendous work. Saw first hand how she took on the mafia at Pangong Tso to remove tented stays from public land and polluting the lake, despite huge pressure from tourism lobby.

  9. And she was kind enough to make us aware about geography, landscapes, wildlife, community role & Challanges of working here. How for KMs they have to walk to reach destinations. Soon Pangong lake area will also be converted into wildlife sanctuary. Leh will have 3 PAs.

  10. Apart from seeing natural beauty of , its so nice to see lady officer Madam Harpreet Kaur, DFO Leh looking after wilderness in this remotest corner of . Kudos to such officers, even working in remote parts of Leh for nature conservation. run this world, silently.

  19. There are 80 such structures in sanctuary with water exit to keep supplying water to Sukhna lake & keep removing silt from moving water as Shivalik hills are very fragile. They help in recharging ground water & conserve soil water.
