The Yellow Van

The Yellow Van

Allhomes is proud to have provided over $10,000 of financial support to The Yellow Van, a fantastic service which rescues and delivers over 20 tonnes of good food which would otherwise have gone to waste, providing over 60,000 meals to disadvantaged people in the community (an equivalent of 2,000 meals a day).

Franklin Charity House

Franklin Charity House

A joint initiative of Master Builders ACT and Land Development Agency, Franklin Charity House was the result of labour and materials donated by members of MBA-ACT. The property sold for $850,000 with proceeds going to a variety of local charities, including the YWCA of Canberra, YouthCare Canberra, the Canberra Men's Centre, Inanna Inc and Toora Women.

 
Special Olympics Swimming Competition

Special Olympics Swimming Competition

Allhomes were proud Event Partners of the Canberra Centenary Swimming Competition which took place on 5-8 April 2013. Special Olympics athletes swam at the first-class facilities of the Australian Institute of Sport where many of them achieved their personal best at the home of Australia’s champions.

2013 Red Cross Tasmanian Bushfire Appeal

In early January, Tasmania suffered great adversity and loss as a result of multiple fires blazing across the state. Allhomes management and staff were pleased to donate $2,500 to offer support to the Tasmanian community during this tough time.

 
AFFIRM: The Australian Foundation for Mental Health Research

AFFIRM: The Australian Foundation for Mental Health Research

AFFIRM is a unique organisation in Australia in funding and advocating for the importance of mental health research. Allhomes have donated a total of $5,000 to AFFIRM so they can continue to support innovative research of the highest professional and ethical standard designed to further our understanding of mental health issues and develop prevention and intervention programs.

McGrath Foundation

McGrath Foundation

A story well known in Australia, Jane and Glenn McGrath’s experience with breast cancer led to the formation of what has become one of Australia’s most recognised charities, the McGrath Foundation. Today, the McGrath Foundation is considered one of Australia’s leading breast cancer support organisations, with over 19,300 Australian families supported by 83 McGrath Breast Care Nurses nationally in the last four years.

IPG Foundation

The Independent Property Group Foundation was established in 2007 to assist people within the Canberra community in their time of need. A portion of the fees from all residential sales made by Independent are donated to the Foundation, and money is also raised via a number of fundraising activities undertaken by the enthusiastic staff and shareholders of Independent.

The Newborn Intensive Care Foundation

The Newborn Intensive Care Foundation

The Newborn Intensive Care Foundation is a local charity that raises money for medical equipment, research and Nurse education, giving ACT and Southern NSW’s critically ill newborn babies the best chance to lead healthy, normal lives. In 2013 Allhomes presented the Foundation with a $5,000 donation, which went towards the purchase of much-needed equipment for the Neonatal Inventive Care Unit.

Camp Quality

Camp Quality

Camp Quality operates programs in every State and Territory throughout Australia. Thirteen offices run over 240 camps and fun days and perform to over 250,000 school children each year with the aim to provide support to children and families living with cancer by celebrating life, fun, optimism and hope!

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout

The Vinnies CEO Sleepout is a unique way for business leaders to raise awareness and important funds in support of essential homeless services across the country. There are more than 100,000 Australians who find themselves homeless each night of the year. Just under half of these are women; a quarter are under the age of 18.

Lifeline

Lifeline provides access to crisis support, suicide prevention and mental health support services. Lifeline also provides national services and campaigns that promote emotional wellbeing, encourage help seeking, and address suicide prevention and awareness.

Vic Deaf (via Vince Sorrenti, Celebrity Apprentice)

Vic Deaf (via Vince Sorrenti, Celebrity Apprentice)

In 2012 the face of Allhomes in Canberra, Vince Sorrenti participated in the Celebrity Apprentice TV series. His nominated charity was Vic Deaf, a not for profit organisation established in 1884 and is the primary source of reference, referral, advice and support for deaf and hard of hearing adults in Victoria. Allhomes was happy to donate $10,000 to this cause.

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund)

JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund)

The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the world's largest charitable supporter of type 1 diabetes research. Founded in Australia in 1982 by a group of determined volunteers, internationally JDRF has been involved in every major type 1 diabetes breakthrough of the last four decades.

Starlight Foundation

Starlight Foundation

Since being formed in 1988, the Starlight Children's Foundation has brightened the lives of seriously ill and hospitalised children, and their families, throughout Australia. Allhomes has provided $3,000 worth of support so Starlight can continue to provide programs integral to the total care of seriously ill children, listing their spirits and giving them the opportunity to laugh, play and be a child again.

St John's Care Canberra

St John's Care Canberra

St John's Care operate a range of programs throughout the Canberra region to offer support to vulnerable members of the local community. The core business of St John's Care is providing emergency assistance in the form of food (including fresh fruit and vegetables), clothing and a limited amount of financial help to meet the basic requirements of people in need. Allhomes has donated $2,000 to the 2013 St John's building redevelopment and refurbishment program so that St John's Care may continue to meet the increasing demand for support and emergency relief in our local community.

The Canberra Community Sleepout is Canberra's only family friendly Sleepout event. Team Allhomes participated in this event as Corporate Champions, raising awareness and funds to help tackle homelessness in our community. All money raised from this event goes directly to Communities@Work and St Vincent de Paul Society Canberra/Goulburn.
