While numbers may be alarming, It's not clear if they're collectable antiques (still needing to be registered) or not, which may change things. And quite frankly, more worried about the Illegal guns running around in so many ways considering use is more worrying than numbers.

Haha I know the fella in Cremorne, his collection are all historic artifacts from the first and second world war, mostly deactivated they where being binned by museums around the world. They will never be fired but still count on records.

In Australia there's 260,000–& up to 600K-firearms (rifles/ handguns) in the illicit market & millions of bullets. The one million guns destroyed after Port Arthur were 'swapped' with new ones by 2016. There's 14.5 firearms/100 ppl. There's no national taskforce.
