On Tuesday, January 15th, P.O.P. will host its annual march to observe the birthday of the immortal Martin Luther King Jr.!
This year’s march will mark Dr. King’s 90th birthday!
“The message, example and commitment of Dr. King is as relevant today as it was in his dangerously turbulent times.
“In his language, our ‘World House’ is on the verge of a major crisis.
“It requires people of goodwill and vision to come together and make a stand and be difference,” said Lawrence Hamm, founding chairman of the People’s Organization for Progress.
Participants will march from the MLK Monument at 4pm. Details to come… Later that week, on Thursday, January 17th, the P.O.P. general assembly will host an inhouse roundtable appreciation at Dr. King at their weekly meeting
at the Abyssinian Baptist Church, 224 West Kinney Street, Newark at 6:30pm.
