And also Squirrel Gi- oh right :(

Are these OEM joy-cons? I was considering picking up a pair but didn’t want to waste money if the controllers were shitty off brand

I'm pretty sure colorware just paints nintendo-manufactured joycons

What about VRV?

It was already on VRV via the Rooster Teeth channel. It's also on the Crunchyroll channel now.

I’m asking if watching it there also supports the show. I already know where it’s being posted.

O.

Yeah I assume RT is compensated for hosting content on VRV, and however much they make back is based on viewership.

huh, I thought he and Geoff were Marvel guys when it got brought up a long time ago on the podcast.

Well for one thing, RT and DC are under the same corporate umbrella. Also, c'mon everyone loves Batman.

also, DC makes (is making?) RWBY and Genlock comics.

Yee, this whole thing with Burnie is probably related to that to some extent.

I doubt they'd actually expect the show to be some widespread breakout success whilst still being a First show, but its a model they are trying to push. Its done very well on the site, judging by engagement, but the returns would tail off pretty quickly from this point. Where it will really pay off, is when they can get people into the ecosystem, and start rolling out a more constant stream of premium content. Need to look at it as more of a long play. If they released the show like RWBY V6, they couldn't then roll it back to First-only later.

They announced it was coming to CR about a month ago, and they're both under the same parent company. This is likely always the plan.

It definitely makes a lot more sense when you think of gen:LOCK's distribution as part of a long-play. I'm just looking forward to seeing the audience grow.

Which means there may not be a season 2? Oh man I really hope that's not the case. I really want a season 2.

I highly doubtful they'd end the show prematurely even if this first season underperformed.

It's a damn good show, and RT knows it. They know it will be successful once it can get the attention it deserves. Scrapping it would be a collossal waste.

It's getting a little annoying seeing constant questions about Season 2. I feel like it would be better to just have a post titled "gen:LOCK Season 2 has yet to be announced" pinned to the top of the sub.

Once we eventually get confirmation on it from RT we can change it to "gen:LOCK Season 2 is confirmed. Release date has yet to be announced".

And then update it whenever we get new information. If any trailers come out they could also be linked within the post.
