JuanPaul Comments: Mad Maxine.
In honour of Juan Paul sharing his private collection of Scientology books, I hereby proclaim Wednesdays to be “L. Ron Humpday” for the remainder of the month of March.

Charles Comments: This title bothers me. If they are “Legends from the End of Time” then they would have no descendants and so nobody to remember them as legends. Also did he use a live model to paint those boobs? I’ll bet she felt ridiculous after she saw the results.

Look at the calendar. It seems we have a very important day circled there. No, it’s not a Monday Bank Holiday. It’s the Good Show Sir 10th Birthday Gala! I guess we need to post OUR GREATEST COVER EVER! Which, unfortunately, Tag Wizard forgot to organize. So we will just have to fish something out of the slush pile. At least the title is somewhat relevant.
Good Show Comments: The whole Good Show Sir experience was eerily foretold in B. Flackes’ classic science fiction novel “Ten Years to Oblivion”!
Thanks to all of our GSS After Dark club members for making it to the JuJu Chelsea for a wild evening of wining and dining. And what a surprise! Thanks to our good friends at Baen for picking up the tab. Didn’t you know? They bought us out last month in an unfriendly takeover. Well it’s been a good run.
We even ordered a very appropriate birthday cake:
Good Show Comments: Yeah, it’s photoshopped. We bought one of those edible photo cakes and even sent over a picture of our favourite book cover on a thumb drive for the baker to put on the icing. Unfortunately this is what was delivered to the party:
Good Show Comments: But thanks anyway to all the loyal kooks who have been showing up these many years and somehow keeping this shitshow going. And for all the commenters who have fallen by the wayside. And for the one-off drive-by’s who remind us that it was really a great book and the cover is very professionally done and shows something that was really in the story. Remember, the real Good Show Sir were the friends we made along the way. Or some such bollocks.
Good Show Comments: … Let’s end the next decade with a bang!

Tat Wood Comments: It’s exactly like a Breughel. If he’d done the poster for a straight-to-video sequel to ‘Dark Crystal’ about a Yeti, sorceress and a woodchuck.

You might remember this from here.
JuanPaul Comments: “Hmm, I don’t like the look of those people over there.”

Wendy Comments: I think the faux-chinese font really makes this special.

Verylatetotheparty Comments: More Moorcock. The next book in the series after “The Jewel In The Skull” and a similar GSS suitable standard of cover art. The cover of the third book is disappointingly not nearly as bad. Published in 1975, it might also qualify as an early example of Orange and Teal, (although it’s come out more pinkish in the photo).

Badger Books are the bomb! Stinkbomb. We’ve gotten a number of Badger covers over the years, most of which have sat unused (mainly because Tag Wizard couldn’t meet the high bar we set for alt-text humour). So we figured if we piled enough Badger Books into one heap they would reach critical mass and burst into flames, solving our problem.
So let’s have a go at our first Badger Books Megapost. Today’s theme is
Damsels in Distress,
or, Badger those Babes!
or, BEHIND YOU! RUN!
Good Show Sir Comments:
1. “I come from the future to … rock your world!”
2. Whence did they come? Thence must we run! Hence.
3. “Get away from me, Nerd!”
4. This is where you’d expect to find Bow-tie Man!
Thanks to Marvin and Roger T. for sending these bad boys in.
