    On this day 10 years ago at 15:04 the temp in Melbourne hit 46.4c, the hottest on record. The fires were already incredibly dangerous, the wind change was to make them catastrophic.

    Oh no, I've clicked through and enabled the "new twitter" UI, and it sucks arse, and I can't find how to turn it off 😱 p.s. Don't make me click through to an individual tweet before I can click "Translate Tweet", translating tweets in the _firehose_ is critical to my Twitter UX

    We (DuckDuckGo) put out some new data on the Do Not Track browser setting today: — ~25% of people use it. — Of those familiar with it, ~half don’t understand it is voluntary. — ~75% think Facebook and Google should be made to respect it. Amazing regulatory opportunity.

    Nearly 1/4 of US adults we surveyed enable the "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting on their browser, sending a signal to websites to stop tracking their activity. But DNT is merely a *voluntary* signal sent to websites, which they don’t have to respect.
