Food Not Bombs Activists Murdered in the Philippines

Since a visit to the Philippines in 2006, I’ve been following the impressive and courageous activities of the anarchist community in the country, keeping in touch with activists on the ground. I have written about their projects on this blog before and also in other forums (here is a recent article in German).

Now, shocking news has arrived. As Freedom reports, four Food Not Bombs activists have been murdered, and one is lingering in jail, in the context of the brutal persecution of alleged street criminals endorsed by President Rodrigo Duterte. Manila’s Etniko Bandido Infoshop has more information on their blog.

Please seek contact to our friends and comrades in the Philippines to figure out what we as an international community of anarchists, radicals, and anti-repression activists can do to help them resist the intensity of state violence they are facing. Find updates and contact details for Etniko Bandido here!
