Stunning
Via email I discover that after police in Pittsburgh used tasers to assault anti-recruitment demonstrators, the city council there is to review their policy on the weapons:
Councilman Sala Udin, who pushed for legislation passed in February allowing the Police Bureau to buy Tasers, said he did so "to prevent the loss of life" and not "to use Taser guns for crowd control or for someone who was mildly resisting officers' orders or arrest."Remember that the next time you hear someone defend the introduction of stun guns in the UK on the basis that they will save lives.
