The End Of An Era - The end of MBOC

I've decided to close this blog as of the 31st of March 2019.

I have a change in circumstances that won't allow me as much time to spend on this blog as I have in the past and to be honest, after 12 years of this I think I need a break.

I'm not ruling out anything in the future just yet.

So come the 31st of March all content from "Mad Blasts Of Chaos" and Mad Blasts Of Kiwi Chaos" will be deleted for good. I suggest grabbing what you want why it's all still live.

Gastunk - Under The Sun Lp - 1987

Infamous Japanese hardcore punk/metal band ガスタンク who formed in the mid '80s by ex- The Execute, The Comes and Dead Cops. They released many singles, EP's, and the successful full-lengths, "Dead Song" and "Under The Sun," which showed the band's own vision of blending obscure Japanese crooning, hardcore punk, with thrash metal and even classic rock hooks. Unfortunately, shortly after their 3rd album "Mother" was released in 1988, the band's popularity waned not only in the U.S., where interest died as fast as it was gained, but in Japan as well. Instead of forging ahead with their own unique genre twisting style, pressures to fit in with the hugely popular Glam Rock / Visual Kei scene at the time in Japan (with bands like X Japan) or trying to compete in the U.S. with the likes of Poison, Guns'n'Roses, etc..., they completely alienated their original fan base, and soon broke up.

Side A is apparently different to the Pusmort pressing which had all the vocals sung in english.

Casualty were a punk band from New Plymouth, New Zealand who were active in the early to late 80's. With a more metallic sound than there compatriots Sticky Filth they were a main stay of the New Plymouth punk scene. I was lucky enough to see them on more than one occasion and much preferred them live to this 12"
They relocated to Australia then disappeared.
