Դատախազությունը կբողոքարկի Մանվել Գրիգորյանին կալանքից ազատելու դատարանի որոշումը
Գլխավոր դատախազությունը վերաքննիչ բողոք կներկայացնի Մանվել Գրիգորյանին գրավի դիմաց կալանքից ազատ արձակելու վերաբերյալ առաջին ատյանի դատարանի որոշման դեմ։ Այս մասին Արմենպրեսին ասել է Գլխավոր դատախազության հանրային կապերի բաժնի պետ Արևիկ Խաչատրյանը։ «Գլխավոր դատախազությունը ստացել է դատարանի որոշումը, այն հիմնավոր չէ, և Դատախազությունը վերաքննիչ բողոք է ներկայացնելու դատարանի որոշման դեմ»,- ասել է Արևիկ Խաչատրյանը։

Akram Aylisli’s Farewell, Aylis: A Non-Traditional Novel in Three Works was recently published by Academic Studies Press. Katherine E. Մանվել Գրիգորյանը 25 մլն դրամ գրավի դիմաց ազատ է արձակվել կալանքից
Նա հավելել է, որ Երևան քաղաքի ընդհանուր իրավասության դատարանի դատավոր Դավիթ Բալայանը բավարարել է պաշտպանական կողմի միջնորդությունը՝ 25 միլիոն դրամ գրավի դիմաց ազատ արձակել:Մանվել Գրիգորյանը մեղադրվում է ապօրինի կերպով ռազմամթերք ձեռք բերելու և պահելու, ինչպես նաև առանձնապես խոշոր չափերով գույք հափշտակելու մեջ։ Նա կալանավորվել է այս տարվա հունիսին, դատարանը արդեն երրրորդ անգամ էր նրա կալանքի ժամկետը երկարացրել:

Էջմիածինցիները դեկտեմբերի 22-ին փակել էին Երևան-Էջմիածին ճանապարհը։ Նրանք ցույց էին անում՝ իրենց բողոքը հայտնելով Երկրապահ կամավորականների միության նախկին նախագահ, գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Մանվել Գրիգորյանի՝ 25 մլն դրամ գրավի դիմաց ազատ արձակվելու առաջին ատյանի դատարանի որոշման դեմ։

Thomas de Waal: The Caucasus, No Longer Just Russia’s Neighborhood
2018 ended on a disturbing note in the Azov Sea with a de facto blockade by Russia and what amounted to an act of Russian state-sanctioned piracy against Ukrainian shipping. No one can tell what this crisis means for next year. Will this aggression be confined to limited Russian objectives in and around the Azov Sea? Does it signal a new effort to destabilize Ukraine as a whole during its election year? Or does it augur something bad for Russia’s other neighbors as well? The Economist Names Armenia "Country of the Year"
Yet in Armenia that is exactly what seems to have happened. The president, Serzh Sargsyan, tried to dodge term limits by making himself into an executive prime minister. The streets erupted in protest. Nikol Pashinyan, a charismatic and bearded former journalist and mp, was swept into power, legally and properly, on a wave of revulsion against corruption and incompetence. His new party alliance won 70% of the vote in a subsequent election. A Putinesque potentate was ejected, and no one was killed. Russia was given no excuse to interfere. A note of caution: Armenia’s nasty territorial dispute with Azerbaijan has not been resolved and could ignite again. However, an ancient and often misruled nation in a turbulent region has a chance of democracy and renewal. For that reason, Armenia is our country of the year. Shnorhavorum yem!

Tom Catena Announced as Chair of Aurora Humanitarian Initiative
The appointment was announced during the Aurora Dialogues in Berlin. Dr. Catena joins the organization during a period of significant growth and will be responsible for engaging key humanitarian stakeholders, working with global partners and overseeing Aurora’s educational and outreach projects, including the internationally recognised, Aurora Prize. Aurora was established three years ago, and has impacted the lives of displaced individuals, children in conflict zones, refugees, migrants and vulnerable citizens around the world. Since 2016, the Aurora Prize has awarded over $3.3 million to unsung heroes and has supported 23 projects in 11 areas of humanitarian assistance globally. This year, the Aurora Prize supported over 375,000 Rohingya refugees. A further 62 students from conflict areas have been recipients of the Aurora Gratitude Scholarships program to study at United World Colleges around the world and the American University of Armenia.

Recap of Election Day in Armenia
Armenians went to the polls on December 9 to elect a new parliament. Eleven political parties and alliances, including Nikol Pashinyan’s My Step Alliance and former ruling Republican Party, participated in the parliamentary elections.Polls opened at 8:00 am, with a few exceptions. Transparency International reported that 8.14 percent of polling stations opened before the designated time of 8:00 am; 81.69 percent opened on time at 8:00 am; 9.83 percent opened between 8:01 am and 8:15 am; 0.34 percent opened after 8:16 am.

Exxon and Chevron Plan to Withdraw from Azerbaijan: Petrostrategies
ExxonMobil and Chevron are pulling out of Azerbaijan, probably because the country’s contractual terms have become less attractive than before, while growth potential has been eroded and development and production costs are set to increase. The two US majors have therefore decided to sell their stakes in the Azeri Chirag and Deepwater Gunashli (ACG) fields and invest elsewhere in the world in more profitable projects with greater growth potential, such as ExxonMobil’s discoveries in Guyana, or Chevron’s US shales. Exxon currently has a 6.79% stake in ACG, while Chevron holds 9.57%. ExxonMobil is hoping to raise some $2 billion through this sale, according to sources close to the issue. This implies that Chevron may expect to sell at around $2.8 billion. While ExxonMobil has made no comment on the proposed divestment, Chevron has confirmed its intention to withdraw. “Chevron regularly reviews its global portfolio of assets to ensure alignment with its long-term priorities.

Next Sunday, on December 9, Armenians are expected to further consolidate their unique and vastly underreported “Velvet Revolution.” On that day, acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan’s “My Step” alliance is expected to win a large governing majority in the country’s parliament.Though this has been barely reported, if it all, in most of the Western media, for the past seven months, landlocked Armenia, with only 3 million inhabitants, has flickered as a small light of hope and progressive democratic change in a Europe increasingly shadowed by authoritarian and dictatorial forces—especially in most of the former Soviet-bloc states of Eastern Europe.

Armenians and Disabilities: We Have a Long and Painful Way to Go
My sister and I were born on the same day, one minute apart. Being twins has always given us a unique bond that people find very entertaining. “The twin thing” is definitely real. So real, that on one occasion my mom witnessed us get up and open the window blinds in our respective rooms at the same time, with zero communication, and in the exact same manner. When my sister was mere months old, the doctors said that she wouldn’t see, walk, or speak. On the other hand, I was able-bodied, inquisitive, and the prototypical big brother. From my early life, I have some memories, but I’ve also heard stories about how we were. One of the things I remember was that my sister used my long, curly hair to pull herself up, because it was one of the few ways that she could reposition herself. She had very little motor skills and strength in her body. Since then, I always claim that anyone can pull my hair and I won’t feel a thing.
