    There are a lot of pictures of mass protests in Venezuela going around, labeled as pro-Maduro or pro-opposition. Anti-Maduro does not necessarily mean pro-opposition (let alone coup), and anti-coup does not necessarily mean pro-Maduro.

    Let me get this straight. The US is sanctioning Venezuela for their lack of democracy but not Saudi Arabia? Such hypocrisy. Maduro’s policies are bad and not helping his people, but crippling sanctions or pushing for regime change will only make the situation worse.

    Leading Democrats are backing the Trump administration’s right wing coup in Venezuela. Now would be a good time to hear some opposition to this blatant American meddling from progressives Democrats like , , and so on. Please speak up

    I don't know why I'm surprised or disappointed that libertarians are debating the legal particulars of Guaido's claim to the presidency as though electoral politics are fucking legitimate or our evaluations should hinge on who "obeyed the law" rather than power dynamics.

    A model doesn't have to be logically contradictory to be bad or unworkable. I can design a death trap of a car with a nuclear warhead instead of an engine and yet avoid logical contradiction in laying out my model. Sheesh. It was a fucking insult and the targets bragged about it.
