The hemispheric long wave pattern has remained stable in recent weeks. There are six main troughs. Currently the most significant troughs are near the longitudes of South Africa, the Indian Ocean, eastern Australia, New Zealand, South America, and the Atlantic Ocean.
Summary:
Over southern and eastern Australia the cold front events with potential to bring widespread rain are now expected about 20 February to 24 February, 24 February to 28 February, and 10 March to 14 March. Rain events originating in the tropics and moving south are possible about 21 February to 25 February, and 25 February to 1 March. Over Western Australia the strongest cold fronts should occur about 20 February to 24 February, and 11 March to 15 March.
